It did get rather heated and I agreed with Kaye. It isn't a great idea for young women (who I understood are the subject of this tiktok trend) to decide against a career or job of any sort, whatever level of job that is. Things can go belly up with a (rich) partner too - relationship breaks down or illness strikes, for example. I bet if Stacey's daughter said that when she's older she wouldn't encourage it either. It's all very well to say, "if that's all they want to do let them be happy doing that", but what level of security does that give you? Stacey and Carol were missing the point; Kaye didn't once say women should all have high earning or high profile jobs.

Exactly, they kept just putting words in kaye's mouth, luckily she was on to provide some sense , it would have been a better discussion with someone like Charlene instead ofnlinda to balance it mors strongly

Also their currency is their youth, but they don’t realise that at the time. (Depressing as that is, it’s the truth.) They will get replaced by a younger model. It is never a good idea to be dependent on another person. Things can change very quickly, they could be out on their ear suddenly, with nothing to show for it. That famous site for mums has thread after thread of women who are trapped financially in situations they are desperate to leave. Everybody needs a plan B and the means to make it happen. They should teach that at school.

I think, and maybe this was too much for them to tackle in a short segment, but a man choosing to be with a women and support her financially is also one of the ways women get trapped in abusive relationships. Obviously we all wish this wasn't the case, but this is a very common problem dor women trying to escape abuse, women cannot leave because financially they just cannot. It can literally be a life or death situation and it does annoy me that this wasn't addressed explicitly in a show that is aimed at women

Sometimes Carol likes to come across as too kool for skool and this was one of those conversations.

Carol's just turning into an argumentative cow at any opportunity. She used to provide hood, strong arguments now her role just appears to be cast as grumpy woman.

I could literally hear kaye's exasperation of how different the situations were 😅
I could see what Stacey was trying to defend (choice) but she's not articulate enough to do so.

Oh my god!!!! What a loose cannon. No pun intended
She'll lay into her about it but Charlene will defend her actions saying when you're in close quarters you have to get on with the other campmates. Most of them in the camp are warming to Matt Hancock, despite themselves. Chris Moyles, for example, who has gone on (behind Matt's back) about how he shouldn't be there has decided that the Matt in the camp (as opposed to Matt the politician) getting all the stars and meals is doing a good job. None of them are that principled or bothered by it despite the bitching about it - have any of them left because he's in there? No. Money talks. But there's a whole thread for this kind of chat.

Denise has truly gone off her rockers on Twitter especially, she kept popping up on mine and has been firmly blocked. One angry angry angry lady, I don't think ITV should be giving her airtime until she calms down and can act and present herself rationally. Shouting doesn't get you heard, it just shuts people off from you.

I can imagine. I'm not on Twitter so haven't seen it all.

I saw yesterday’s episode on catch up. I wish they would get Jane McDonald back on. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, up for a laugh. I doubt she would come back, she already mentioned on there she didn’t know what she was allowed to say anymore. In all seriousness, on a live programme, it must be hard. We know Linda (and Denise) are incapable of self censorship but for the others they must have to really bite their tongue or fret if they can say something. I miss the McDonald and Bellingham years.
