just realised Rachel Stevens hasn’t been on for ages. They tried her out for a few episodes I wonder why they didn’t peruse it with her

She said something along those lines when she first went public. Something like Jake and Shane weren’t keen to start with but then they weren’t keen on any of her Tinder dates. Think they have come round a bit now but seems they quite liked having old Col to themselves and felt a bit threatened by a new priority in her life. Keira was the one that was all for it and encouraged her to go for it.

speaking of hair, the usually expertly coiffured Jane looks like she was running late and her hair has not be done.

Yeah I caught some of the episode, only for Graziano purposes. I noticed the clip in. I think her hair would be improved with a different colour. It's the black, it totally washes her out

Kelly has had very greying makeup for a long time now. I can’t even blame it on the makeup artists at LW as she looked that colour when she was Zooming in from home during the early part of the pandemic

During that clip of Hollyoaks that they played her makeup actually looked more even although that could have been due to the lighting as they were outside during that scene

It’s Stacey I really can’t bear listening to! Linda also annoys me. Does this make me a snob? I was raised to not drop h or t from words where they need to be pronounced and wasn’t allowed to watch Eastenders, because the characters use « ain’t » and double negatives!
I haven’t watched in ages, I got into it in the early/mid 2000’s. I always admired Janet and Carol McG’s outspokenness, though I rarely/never agreed with them, their arguments were always researched and well-constructed. Kaye was an excellent anchor, Jane Mc Donald usually had something interesting to add and Colleen was quite enjoyable/entertaining too.

I totally agree.

It hurts me each time stacey and Linda are given a platform. Neither make any effort to speak properly, it’s lazy and instead of promoting anything going they should get some lessons. Stacey needs to do better for her kids. It’s their human right.

Nice to know I am not alone! I swear it takes more effort to not pronounce t/h than to actually do it! I once heard someone say they had been to see Colla-uh-rul Beau-ee ( Collateral Beauty) and I swear my ears nearly started bleeding!
I was made to practise saying words with th in them, because I used to pronounce that sound as f, so that is another one that gets on my nerves.
From what I have seen of her presenting, Ruth Langford comes across as a sensible, educated lady who isn’t a pushover but can see someone else’s point of view. I think she would make a great anchor for the show!

Ruth is already one of the anchors for the show.
