Long running TV shows that need to be axed

Countdown - Its best years are well over. The ever changing presenters seems to reflect that

Wanted Down Under - The glory years of moving to Oz or NZ were the 80's and 90's. Plus most of the families featured are clearly in it for a free holiday

Masterchef - Tired format

A Place In The Sun - Fussy rich people buying nice houses

Escape To The Country - See above

Not sure if any of the singing shows are still going but they should have been axed years ago

Strictly Come Dancing - Used to get decent celebs but gradually gets worse every year

Will no doubt think of more

Come Dine With Me: Too many people who can't cook yet still manage to get through to being featured. I suppose that is what the producers want, an underdog. More annoying though, people who are fussy eaters and don't like trying anything outside of their simplistic comfort zone.

Four in a Bed: The reading of feedback comments before payment day, resulting in tit for tat scoring - finding one hair and a little dust so a down-score for the host(s)

I like the premise of both shows but the formats need to be updated somehow as they are very tired. Also, competitors now know how to 'play the game' even though some still come unstuck...

Even though Oz is still the number one country Brits emigrate to, I do find the formula and the show a bit tired. Would be better if it was about Brits wanting to emigrate to different countries such as USA, Canada, Spain (which are in the top 5 from what I’ve read).

Are they young people who stay for a few years and come back though? I know loads who did that. But it seems less and less that already established families are going over.

And yeah, if they had a similar thing where it wasn't OZ/NZ it could be good. I think Ch4 has a kind of similar European one, but it follows them more when they're over there

I know of so many people who went over to Oz for 3-6 years to live and travel etc. Only one has stayed longer term.
I would actually watch a show where it showed British families who moved to other places than Oz, Spain and France. Places like USA, Russia, Indonesia, etc. Would be interesting to watch!

It focuses on people setting up businesses abroad. Decent wee show. Can't remember the name of it though lol
