This is what has puzzled me. Was she aware of their relationship behind her back? I thought she only knew Jayne, not her husband. So why when we saw no on screen flashback to their link, would she want to speak to Kate about it, especially given that her and Denton had it planned beforehand and we saw her speaking to Dot about it. 🤨🤨

I think they were all friends at some point. I’m not sure it was about the affair as it was immediately before the ambush and Jane didn’t expect to die.

Lindsay found out about the calls and manipulated Kate. Kate went to see Richard Akers and told him they were going to interview him and not to mention the calls. Later, when Kate was still getting nowhere with Lindsay, she told Steve about the affair and the calls but said she didn’t know the reason. However, she did as Richard Akers already told her it was about her case and the WP files confirmed it was Hunter. So Kate wasn’t honest with Steve and it was all covered up. It’s a bit suspicious and it’s a lingering question.

I had a soft spot for Tony Gates (Series 1). I also liked Lindsay Denton, she was fierce when she needed to be, but underneath I felt she was really vulnerable. I felt so sorry for her when her cat was taken away and she was sent to prison. She lived for her job and her Mother and seemed to have nothing else in her life.

I also loved the Tony Gates character. Wouldn’t have minded watching a series based around the character. 👌

The L Denton character was brilliant too. So many nuances to her personality.
