We saw Ryan's mum in the first series anyway.

Also important to remember that Jo isn't originally from the area she works in.

Her being from outside the area is what has me convinced she is undercover for Operation Pear Tree.

They looked at a number of candidates for the role in the OCG (Corbett) so why not also send someone undercover at the police side as Operation Pear Tree was about uncovering institutional links to organised crime within the police.

So in a nutshell my theory is: Jo is not bent, the DNA link between her and whoever (Tommy I think) is a red herring.

Pretty much her whole career has been based in that area though, she's not recently moved.

I think it will come back to the care system, just purely based on her telling Farida she didn’t have a family, which gives them a lot of room to take liberties with her having seemed to have a career miles away from where her accent is from.

Her police training was in Scotland though.

The accent doesn't mean much if she's professionally clean, people move for work. It would only really mean anything as a connection to Hunter, but then Farida is Scottish too.

I must have missed that bit! I know it said Melton but I didn’t remember that having come up before so I was thinking like Melton Mowbray way 🙊

Maybe we are all misplacing Kates apparent affection towards Jo.... maybe it’s like a reassuring look or touch to say I know what you’re going through or what’s on your plate kinda touch.... as in she knows all going on cos Kate is also bent/involved 😱

The way Kate said it wasn’t personal last episode made me think there’s been talking off screen that we haven’t seen yet. Personal could easily mean either that something has been going on between them or be code to mean what’s going on and Kate is involved.

Oooh this’ll be good! Maybe she’s talking after being killed off 🤔
