Mother of god you are right. I am up to series five on my rewatch and they specifically say all his details were wiped from the police database.

It can’t be anyone who was employed in the police as Steve said it was on the wider database - so Dryden, Danny, John Corbett are all out.

It’s either a criminal (TOMMY HUNTER) or someone who provided DNA for other reasons (a victim of a crime? I don’t know).

I think they ran the DNA in the house (Jo's) through the normal DNA database and it showed a partial match to someone on there that was related to Jo. They also ran out through the police database to rule out any cross contamination by officers and matched it fully to Jo through that.

It is!! I’m literally wracking my brains for anyone from s1-now whose DNA might be on the database so far I’ve come up with Jackie, Tommy Hunter, Carly Kirk, I suppose John if his details were completely wiped but I’m not sure , I’m even going back to Denton’s bloody neighbour and the nurse on Tommy Hunter’s hospital ward at this point!!
