The testimony from the girl who saw him half an hour before he died is haunting. It really seems like he was lost/in a bad place and some bad news just triggered him. He probably went back upstairs to do more drugs which is why he ended up falling over when he came back to the lobby. Imagine being at your lowest and then tripping up. I’m mortified on a good day.

Sometimes I’ve been so angry in the past that I just want to cause myself harm because l couldn’t properly deal with the emotions (I’m all good now, was caused by some trauma) so I’m wondering if it was a momentary act of desperation because he needed an outlet and he didn’t really intend to off himself. maybe he was showing signs of self harm before the run up which is why the reception team were worried about him jumping off the balcony

I think the individual tributes from Zayn, Louis, Harry and Niall were lovely and I admire them all for being able to share their thoughts on what must have been a terribly difficult day for them. Losing a friend in any circumstances is tough. I don’t think overanalysing what each man said, and whether their publicists helped with the wording, is useful. They were all really close for several years and no matter what has happened since, they are all devastated.

I do think it would have been nice if Harry could have posted a photo of him and Liam, but you are all right, they haven't been friends for a very long time and just because you were at one point, doesn't mean you can feign a relationship that isn't there. I've had many best friends in my life who have come and gone as we all change and grow and even though we didn't end the friendships on bad terms, I couldn't tell you a thing about them now and if someone told me they'd died I wouldn't feel much of anything other than "Ah yeah, that's really sad". Doesn't mean you actively wish them harm, but they aren't in eachothers lives and don't know eachother anymore, it was a lifetime ago. You can spend a crazy amount of time with someone, but that doesn't change the now and the boys may even have had very bad experiences of/with Liam and you can't forget that just because he's gone now. I think their posts are pretty good considering and realistically, nothing they do or don't would be good enough.

That being sad, I'm a partial hypocrite lmao because I do think Harry's picture having to match his aesthetic is pretty grim.

Who is Roger? I haven’t seen any of that

He is an Argentine company owner that Liam had a friendship with he seems to have been with him quite a lot recently

I don’t think that picture was about matching his aesthetic though? It was a picture of someone doing what they loved. If he had posed one of them together from a long time agonit woild be criticised as proof they had no longer been friends. Harry can’t win. That photo, I am assuming is not before seen? A lovely tribute.

Poor boys. Forever linked to tragedy now. Knowing the world is speculating on their feelings about a dead and troubled young man. Incredibly bleak :(

I get that, but maybe he or one of his team felt that to have a picture of them both together might be construed as trying to take some of the focus away from Liam. At least in the one chosen, Liam is central and the only subject. I can see why someone might feel it was a better approach. Basically I just think everything they put on social media is over-analysed and second-guessed at the best of times so this was probably a choice that they made after considerable deliberation and felt it was the 'safest' option.

Nah I do agree, damned if you do, damned if you don't. It's not gonna please everyone, end of the day none of them had to say a thing and I'm sure regardless of their current relationship with Liam, they are all having a pretty hard time right now and for that I am very sad for them.

I remember when Sarah Harding passed, Cheryl posted a solo photo of Sarah & everyone was saying she was doing it to try and look like she cared and blah blah blah. Celebs can’t win.

Find it weird according to the report this Roger guy would tell total strangers that had their phones out that he’s sorry Liam gets so high. And now added to the report that he was fake strangling Liam and it was so funny they were all laughing but then supposedly Liam did it to a woman and it was so disturbing to them all. What weird company to keep 😔 seems like the most lonely life to me. Nothing she says Liam said sounds in any way disturbing. Just kind of sounds like him chatting away making small talk normally to a group of randoms that are staring at you and taking photos but also pretending they don’t know who you are or care 🥴

I think there are a lot of reasons for Liam's troubles, X factor, no guidance, constantly working, not much solo success, dropped by record label, ex girlfriend trouble etc...is it a case of most aspects of his life had a hand to play & this was the outcome?, or how much responsibility would Liam himself needed to take? Is it easier to blame everything or everyone around him & not the individual, yes he was only 31, but this isn't a young adult late teens early 20's, although he may have felt like that in his mind.

Surrounded by "friends" yet still alone. :(

I think Liam just had a crappy life. Your comment sounds incredibly accurate. I will admit to being one of those people that had an interest in him in recent years because he was so cringe. He seemed nice but misguided and the Logan Paul interview was frankly pathetic. It is sad. Because he seems a classic case of arrested development through fame and excess. And just endlessly surrounded by the wrong people. Exceptionally sad.

He had a good voice, but his solo career was really lacklustre.

Not a 1D fan, but liked Harry’s first two albums. And Louis’ one with Habit on was the soundtrack to lockdown for me. Liam just seemed to have been left in the dust.

Speculating whether it was suicide or not is also a bit pointless. It was, whatever happened, a person with exceptional disregard for his own safety. Whether he meant it or not, he killed himself.
