Iain Dale on LBC talking about meat in our diets. He doesn't like most veg and doesn't drink tea or coffee. I wonder what he eats. He likes peas, potatoes, peppers, onions. I am curious what he eats. 3 days of meat a week.

He's also diabetic. He's had issues with it too. I think Steve Allen described Iain as a bad diabetic. If Steve is saying that he must be horrendous :ROFLMAO:

"It's none of our business that this woman had issues with alcohol and HRT," says Nick Ferrari.

The papers have also latched onto the angle that the police shouldn't have released such personal details yet keep repeating it themselves.

Duty to report, or an excuse for solicitousness?

It is a bit ridiculous. LBC managed to cover the outrage all day yesterday. If anyone missed those personal details about Nicola Bulley when they were first mentioned, they absolutely know now

It is a problem with journalism Phil that is so clickbait these days.

But I think Lancashire police made a mistake in releasing this. It does not seem relevant for us to know...

The media would probably defend itself by claiming that it's raised the profile of menopausal symptoms, which it has.

Even Iain Dale, who I like on the whole, cannot take criticism regarding the duplicitous nature of the mass media. Every host takes great umbridge when a caller has the temerity to criticize LBC. If it bleeds it leads, it's been that way since forever ... I think they doth protest too much whenever they try to defend what they do and how much they get paid to do it. :cautious:

I agree we do not need to know this information. I read on another thread that the reason the Police had to reveal was due to the fact a reporter had already obtained this info and was planning to go to print with it so maybe the Police had to get in there first. In a way I feel sorry for the police, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I had the misfortune to listen to Jonathan 'er, er, er' Ashworth today. Not a natural presenter. I also learned today that he does stand up!!

People moan about LBC having the likes of Rachel Johnson and Emily Sheffield on because they happen to be related to conservative MP's meanwhile actual Labour MP's are getting a 3 hour party political broadcast regularly.

They all suck balls. Why on earth can't they find people either not related to MPs or not MPs. I remember James disingenuously saying how great regional radio hosts are (when Liz Truss was doing the rounds) ... there must be some good regional presenters due a shot on commercial radio. I bet producers hate having to babysit non-professional broadcasters.

I heard JA earlier today while I was driving (slowly!) on the M25 traffic jam. He seemed to have difficulty in reading out listener's place where they were calling from. He seemed to mention on quite a number of occassions that he was Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. It was a case of, if in doubt, remind the listeners who you are !

Anyone know what age Steve's Bentley is? He said he's got a Bentley Spur.

I think it's pretty new isn't it? Like within the past 18 months.

Mumbling, stuttering and waffling. TOTALLY unsuited to broadcasting. Actually, it was bleeping embarrassing and AGAIN, an insult to professional broadcasters needing work.
