It was disappointing that Nick Ferrari trivialised the government reshuffle by focusing on the cost of the new departments rather than what they have been set up to achieve. I see the changes as bold moves by Rishi Sunak to focus on key areas for future growth, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology being a prime example. Sadly I think Rishi's tenor in Number Ten will be short lived, but he will leave his mark with bold decisions like these.

It looks like David Lammy is covering the whole of next week for James O'Brien (until Wednesday already announced which means he won't be able to attend PMQs), as well as his usual Sunday show. So how will he find time to do his two taxpayer funded jobs of MP for Tottenham and Shadow Foreign Secretary? He is certainly leaving himself open for criticism.

Updating the above to be fair to David Lammy, there are no PMQs this week as parliament is in recess. MPs work hard and are entitled to private time like the rest of us. We may go to the pub or play golf, he does occasional radio shows and is very good at doing so.

I forgot Lammy was on this week and caught the first 5-10 minutes of his show. I find his staccato delivery very tiresome. It's almost like you can hear his brain working.

Let me know when others get all this "private time" please

  • Whitsun recess: a week in late May to early June
  • Summer recess: late July to early September
  • Conference recess: Mid-September to early October (accommodating the party conferences)
  • November recess: a long weekend in mid-November
  • Christmas recess: late December to early January
  • February recess: a week in mid-February
  • Easter recess: two weeks dependent on the date of Easter; usually late March or early April to mid-April

Steve dusting off his Valentines Day routine. Or perhaps he's gone home early and they're playing last year's podcast. Or the year before or the one before that. 😩

What aftershave to you wear Steve? He must be paid for these blatant plugs ...:rolleyes:

Lammy is in the First Class carriage of the gravy train that's for sure. Plus being in opposition is easy ... especially with the Tories in such a state. I can't listen to him ... his presenting style is so bleeping irritating. Added to that he's got a really nasty side to him, like when that teacher rang up and disagreed with him about something and he said he was glad she didn't teach his kids (only for her to reply, yes so am I).:cautious:

LBC must be able to get ahold of presenters who will cover for James that aren't sitting MPs. How about give others an opportunity to make money as a radio presenter.

Lol on Steve's show this morning:

"I tell you what I do like, is those chunky fish fingers from Iceland. Six in a pack, three packs for £10."

All I can think is that because LBC is a money-making exercise it has to have a 'name' to present in order to attract listeners, mich like a publisher needs a 'name' to flog books. Also it has to have someone who will appeal to James' core audience. I'll have a think and try to come up with some names ... Lammy is a massive turn off. In more ways than one.

One strength of LBC is Nick Ferrari. When he retires he will leave an enormous gap in the schedule.

Nick Ferrari: 'Yes, we employed the Chinese to fit out the briefing room in Number 10. Plus we give them £50million a year. But then we shoot down their balloons. 'This is what I think is called joined up thinking, isn't it?'

Damn, damn, damn!! Just seen next week's s Radio Times. It's Debra Stephenson, not Pamela. Still, at least it's not a reality show bimbo.

Maybe she could do an impression of Pamela Stephenson? 🤔

I caught some of David Lammy today. I liked his last hour on arranged marriages. Very different topic.

Not so with his topic on working from home. Why on earth do they give dinosaurs like Charlie Mullins air time. For starters he's in a business that can't work from home so what does he actually know about it? He also mentioned Alan Sugar who also rants about people wfh. I bet neither of them go into the office everyday but manage to take work calls from their holiday homes in Spain or yacht. It's here to stay people. What's the difference between sitting on your computer all day in an office to sitting on a computer all day at home?

A bit creepy Charlie, the botox, rod stewart hair and dawood & tanner gnashers
