Thanks for the very warm welcome and I agree with the comments re thinking someone on the LBC thread must be a moderator. I cannot believe why and how some of the good posters on there have been banned. There were some really good eloquent posters who were ripped to shreds by the clique yet their bullish posts always remained and they are allowed to carry on.

It really is a one sided thread now. They love to inflate each others egos by hitting that agree button. I say we leave them to it.

Back to LBC. Been a long time listener and listen to Nick Ferrari, Steve Allen (helps my insomnia), Tom Swarbrick, Iain Dale and Nick Abbot. Love Nick Abbot on a Friday and Saturday night only when he is in his funny mood and not droning on about Boris and Brexit. He gets some whacky callers. 🤣

Whatever went on there was very odd and I'm glad I left. You could have pages of two posters going toe to toe about something and only one would get a ban. ( usually the one not in the clique). I knew it was rime to go when I got a ban for agreeing with someone who had made a joke about another posters spelling. I remember saying to husband 'Ive got a ban' and him saying 'what for?' and then he started laughing and started calling me a troll 🤣 . Honestly, if I'd been racist, homophobic, threatening etc etc. It only ever happened on that particular thread too which made it more suspicious. Never had an issue with the rest of DS.

Anyway ... enough of that. Back to LBC.

I'm glad you like Nick Abbot. I'm a bit outnumbered here but I do find he can be very funny. I don't listen on Sunday's though because I don't like his serious shows. There's enough of that on LBC.

I was recommended this forum in a PM from a Digital Spy member. I have been a member of DS for years and years and are mainly active in the LBC and Steve Allen thread. I tend to lurk more than post as I don't fit in with the clique. The LBC thread is so one sided and lost far too many good posters. I got a warning last year for making a nice post about the way some of the regulars treat other members and that their posts border on bullying. I am so tempted at times (especially after a couple of glasses of wine) to state my opinion but more often I keep out of the debate and leave the little LBC clique to it. Some of their posts are absolutely awful and I really cannot understand how they get away with it and have come to the conclusion they or at least one of them must be a moderator.

Looking forward to a good read of these forums :)

Yes welcome i10gal. I still have an account over on the other forums but I seldom use it. I must say I quite agree with your observations.

Having said that, now that I have caught up on here, I'm going to dive over to P.342 of the sewer on the other side to see which of us was mentioned. Though I think that was answered here by Fenella in #763.

I might even delve into a Fanny Allen podcast too, now that I know he's been on this morning. Before I stopped listening to him I used to lquite like those Sunday morning shows where he had all the fodder from the Sunday tabloids to masticate over. Particularly when I was up very early to meet with my Sunday morning walking group at very distant rural locations.

I thought they were not allowed to discuss other forum members? I did hop into that debate (yes I am Sugarbabe on there) but I got it wrong as I got the Martin's mixed up. Hey ho, I did apologise though  They were keen to know though where I had seen the posts!! I bet the pings from the PMs were deafening yesterday 😂

Lady caller to Paul thinks that Russia would wipe us out with nukes, if Liz Truss was leader as she's a warmonger, I doubt Liz has the brains to be an Ironmonger.
Anyway, the West would do the same.
It's called M.A.D, mutually assured destruction.
No winners.
Another caller said he didn't want Penny Mordaunt as Tory leader because of her hair
The lunatics are taking over the asylum

Back in the day as a newsreader Steve was able to control his Autocue/headline reading speed, using a pedal under his desk.
Unfortunately for Steve he had a foot tapping problem (maybe nervous) & this caused him no end of problems 😂

I've noticed my feet start tapping after eating a tub of ice-cream, a milkshake, a wimpy burger, and a glass of procesco.

Great listening to Steve Allen's Sunday morning show on podcast today. Leslie Crowther and The Price is Right was one of the subjects at one point.

He also mentioned another of his old chestnuts, Mitch Murray who did the sixties comedy song Down Came The Rain. With that we also got the Mitch Murray impression with the song title done in his best comedy voice. If you've ever heard the record you'll know what I mean.

That's one thing I like about Steve Allen, he's been around and he can go back a bit to the past. The podcast is still going on in my headphones now actually. He's just mentioned the old Peter Sellers song 'Balham, Gateway to the South'. My parents used to have that on an old 78.
