I was recommended this forum in a PM from a Digital Spy member. I have been a member of DS for years and years and are mainly active in the LBC and Steve Allen thread. I tend to lurk more than post as I don't fit in with the clique. The LBC thread is so one sided and lost far too many good posters. I got a warning last year for making a nice post about the way some of the regulars treat other members and that their posts border on bullying. I am so tempted at times (especially after a couple of glasses of wine) to state my opinion but more often I keep out of the debate and leave the little LBC clique to it. Some of their posts are absolutely awful and I really cannot understand how they get away with it and have come to the conclusion they or at least one of them must be a moderator.

Looking forward to a good read of these forums :)

There's a few ex DS'er on here so you'll probably work out who's who.

We tend to steer away from politics or it's mentioned very briefly. We're more interested in Steve's colonoscopy or James' daily breakdown.

Welcome. The nice thing about this forum is that we're allowed to disagree without receiving a barrage of hostility and, untimately, being reported and booted off. And we all remain friends!

Hello!

FMs here must be bored with me always saying I'm sure at least one poster on the DS LBC thread must be a mod, so thanks for making me think I'm not alone. I'll keep saying this when those who do not agree with the clique end up being banned. I'm sure pauljoanss' card has been marked 😠

At least this forum is fun and FMs respect each others views, whether agreeing or disagreeing, unlike the cesspit that the DS LBC thread has become.

Hope you have a more enjoyable time on TL.

I'd love to know who's who. I know 3 of you but I often try and guess who the others are/were. Pity we can't PM here. Still, best to keep mum - there's at least one who reports back to them, although I don't think she actually posts here. ;)

I still can't believe Theo and Ben Kentish both missed one of the biggest political weeks in years. Talk about timing 🤣

I was catching up with a bit of Nick Abbot. He was moaning he has a whole page on his soundboard of Trump he doesn't get to use.
What is funny is that all those soundbites like Boris making car noises or Zahawi unable to count are real.

Morning and welcome

My advice about DS is only state your opinion if you are ready to be banned. I saw that happen to others ( some are here) before they caught me too. The worst was where one of the mildest posters was hounded over nonsensical racism allegations and then banned. I posted for many years with not even a sniff of a warning and do not think that I changed......

I posted on some of the sports forums and never had any issues at all. It seems likely that one of the LBC clique is a moderator and manipulates that thread.

I still think it's a bit fishy that Theo was seen going to a Tory fundraiser last weekend, and then doesn't appear on LBC the following week. Are we 100 percent certain he had appendicitis? I'm not fishing ... I'm 99percent sure he wouldn't make something like that up, but ... there's a 1percent little nagging doubt. Plus James made a snidey aside in the week about Theo ... saying that he was ill, but not ill enough to appear on someone else's show for a comment .. he did it in one of his typical 'haaha, I'm only joking but I'm not joking' ways ...

Apart from a few tweets on the day Boris resigned, Theo's been very quiet. I'm sure the appendicitis is real.

I never get the relationship with James and Theo. I always feel Theo tolerates James. James is the only presenter who tries to get Theo to give opinions when he knows Theo has to remain impartial on air.
 
Thanks for the very warm welcome and I agree with the comments re thinking someone on the LBC thread must be a moderator. I cannot believe why and how some of the good posters on there have been banned. There were some really good eloquent posters who were ripped to shreds by the clique yet their bullish posts always remained and they are allowed to carry on.

It really is a one sided thread now. They love to inflate each others egos by hitting that agree button. I say we leave them to it.

Back to LBC. Been a long time listener and listen to Nick Ferrari, Steve Allen (helps my insomnia), Tom Swarbrick, Iain Dale and Nick Abbot. Love Nick Abbot on a Friday and Saturday night only when he is in his funny mood and not droning on about Boris and Brexit. He gets some whacky callers. 🤣
