Re Jobbie, I think its 30% what he actually believes, 70% it pays the mortgage. It’s got so much worse over time as he has become more and more bitter. I put the bitterness down to being an intelligent enough bloke and wannabe serious journo who knows what he’s doing is basically bollocks but there’s no way out.

Whatever, it’s a deeply cynical way to make a living, being a sort of emotional syphon for a deeply resentful group of people unwilling or unable to move beyond a certain point in history.

Totally agree. And of course, the higher his listening figures become the harder it is for him to row back. From what I can tell he's never had a job in the 'real world'. He wouldn't survive, I think he knows that, yet ironically I think it would made him a more rounded person emotionally. As you say, winding people up who voted for Brexit everyday is quite a sad existence, especially when many of them haven't been lucky enough to enjoy the level of education or priviledge James has had. That's a really deeply unpleasant trait, especially for someone who often makes out he's somekind of humanitarian.

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. Jimbo loves the attention. He's just a troll, actually he's worse than a troll he's a priviledged educated troll ... there's no excuse for that, that's pretty low. There's a reason he's on commercial radio. It's so obvious to me why he needed therapy. Poor James. LOL.
That is why his show opened today with dog whistling about partygate and cake. After all we are seeing a war unfold and the cost of living rise. But that brings some home truths to Brian as even the Wall Street Journal is pointing out.

"A lot of outrage about Germany buying energy from Russia, but French companies are *actually manufacturing there despite the sanctions* while ⁦
@JY_LeDrian
⁩ claims that Europe is at economic war with Moscow. It’s a painless war for some "

Of course that is disaster for what James has been saying so he will avoid it at all costs.. Instead he will try to have his cake and eat it...

There’s no growth with James, everything is rooted in ideology or personal antipathy that he cannot let go of so there’s no opportunity for intellectual development. He hates Brexit, he hates Boris, he hates Tories, it’s all very 6th form and everything is seen through the same lens. It’s a kind of emotional and professional stagnation and it’s boring to anyone trying to understand something beyond one particular perspective.

James had his first pint of beer in York, wearing a double-breasted Gieves & Hawkes suit, aged 16.
He then worked in a gentleman's outfitter (Burtons menswear)
Oh...suits you Sir...oh Kenneth

James has never recovered from a deep sense of failure. Imagine him post a posh Ampleforth education only able to get a career peaking with "does sir dress to the left or the right?"
After his father helped him into the media James has desperately searched for something where people would praise him in an attempt to escape his feelings of being a failure. He hoped Brexit would bring it and he would be seen as the man who led us away from it, Instead he has become one of those driven mad by Brexit and in this instance by the humble sausage.

" A ‘patriotic breakfast’? Sausages were invented by Sumerians circa 3000BC; all beans used in baked beans are native to South America; pork was first salted in ancient China & hens were first domesticated in ancient Egypt. ‘Patriotic’ What an awful joke Brexit is making of the UK. "

It puzzles me why he's grossed out by women applying their makeup on the train but thinks it's OK to stuff his face with greasy takeaway food on public transport.
Mother perhaps wouldn't approve 😁
I imagine him sat near the back of the bus, furtively eating a sausage roll, shifty eyes scanning the other passengers.

I see it's reported that Eddie Mair has thrown his dummy out of his pram and is leaving after 1hr was sliced off his show to accomodate Andrew Marr. Oh the ego. Eddie left the BBC in a huff because they had the cheek to cut his 350k salary. He won't be missed by me, all he did for 2 years was read out COVID-19 death figures and sell grief-porn by taking distraught callers who had lost a loved one. Bye Eddie .... Don't cry about it you big baby.

According to Global and Eddie himself, he's retiring.

I would be surprised he would be upset at losing the hour. He did a two hour show for the BBC and initially joined LBC with a two hour show. I always thought he was just filling in until they sorted out a proper schedule for the 6pm slot.
