I can't believe that Brendan Cox is still wheeled out for these things. What happened to to Jo was awful but he has been involved in two incidents of inappropriate behaviour towards woman. One at save The Children and one at Harvard University. Both whilst married to Jo. I guess we just forget about that because it's more useful to the media that he's the widow of a murdered MP.

Gosh, I had no idea about any of that. I would say though, if the media stopped using sex-pests they would have no business. :ROFLMAO: :cautious:

Agreed. I think it is why the mainstream media is struggling though. People are starting to see through this more and more.
 
Listening to the execrable Abbott bluffing his way through last night, any decent broadcaster would have had a default position to present from. Put aside your biases and prejudices and report the facts. Not him. snidery and digs all the way through 'it's just a bit of blood on his face', 'if it is indeed what it appears to be' etc etc. Simon Marks pitched in and raised the level for a bit, the final call on the show was someone from Canada who shoehorned in a Jo Cox reference.
 
Ex-LBC presenter (keeping it on topic ;) ) Farage is going to the Republican rally to show his support for his mate Donald. It could be useful to have an actual MP as part of what looking very likely to be the next President's court. Lightweight Lammy is, of course, very chummy with the other side.

I only lasted 5 secs this morning with Ian Payne (is think it was him), calling Trump 'President Trump' .... how bleeping desperate are the failing mainstream media channels to get Trump elected, it's disgusting. Of course ... I suppose it doesn't matter so much here because we have no vote.

Going back to the Brendan Cox thing, it's amazing to me that sex offenders or alleged sex offenders get airtime, let alone have a chance to be President of the US. O'Brien is the only real person I've heard on commercial media to actually call Trump out for what he is ... I hope he ramps that up and if he doesn't I suspect he's been told to tone-down his views, which is a terrible indictment to him and the channel he works for.

I'm trying to avoid LBC as much as I can from now on, it just doesn't enhance my life. But keep me informed! 😬
 
I'd have more respect for Jobby if he stayed true to his beliefs re Trump and didn't join the parade of snivelling media lackeys just spouting the same spiel re "President" Trump's incredible escape from the assassin's bullet and lauding his "bravery and resilience".

I bet Trump has been rehearsing this moment for years...The Messiah saved him for Greater Things Ahead and now his Mission is to lead America into a wonderful future. If he'd been assassinated he would have been the Ultimate Martyr to the MAGA cause and remembered for ever more as a Supreme Leader Cut Down In His Prime. I reckon he would have settled for that over disgrace and prison sentences for his numerous crimes.

I think I'd rather have a leader of the free world who confines his misdemeanors to personal peccadilloes than a warmonger who loves getting his country involved in foreign wars, and sucks up to China, like Biden. And the Kennedys and Clintons failed on both counts.

I checked out how ex-Presidents should be addressed and it's a grey area. The main consensus seems to be 'former President Trump.' I haven't heard any of the media refer to 'Mr Trump' (or whoever).

Mariam Moshiri did it on BBC2 around 10am this morning. He should really be given his full title: Convicted Felon and Adjuicated Rapist Mr. Trump ... but I'll settle for 'Mr'. Has LBC mentioned much about the latest tranche of Epstein evidence released? ... Plane logs with Trump on abroad along with lots of young ladies of questionable age. Probably not, it doesn't really fit the narrative of victim Don.

Children? Have you a reliable source for that? Perhaps you're confusing him with Biden and his peccadillo for fondling little girls and sniffing their hair. Plenty of pictures to back that up.

Perhaps Epstein's list will get a mention next time the topic on LBC is Blair, Branson, Jagger or Hawking. It does indeed depend on whether it fits the narrative. Not that being on a list proves any culpability.

There were two main cliques, roughly right and left, pro-and anti-Brexit, but it was nothing like as political as it is now. The discussions were mainly about LBC. I remember the mods being quite tough on that, posting warnings to stay on topic. Now you have to wonder if the thread is actually monitored at all. There was actual discussion! Even the nasty ones kept it reasonably polite. I got quite nostalgic looking at the familiar friendly posters, some of whom I know are here.

I think some of the regular clique on that thread are actually mods. I have not been banned there but as much as I am tempted, I no longer comment in the LBC thread there.

I see there was a mention of another LBC thread on another site (possibly this thread ;)). They seemed shocked it was full of hatred to JOB and that it is (in a posters words) fairly toxic and unpleasant. Seriously, the irony as the only toxic and unpleasant LBC thread is on digital spy.

Going totally off topic but this is too good not to post and I know some here listen to Boom Radio (cos we're all old) ... Boom's defence to OFCOM as to why they played a song with swear word in it.
