I'm not sure if this is indicative of anything but all the election stuff over the past couple of days and I haven't listened to LBC at all apart from an hour of Nick Abott last night. LBC is not my first port of call for major political events. In fact, LBC is not my port of call for anything much these days.
An LBC O'Brien youtube clip came up on my suggestions so I watched it. Jeremy Hunt and Rees Mogg gave the most gracious of speeches wishing the new government well, O'Brien's take on Hunt included the phrase 'for all his weirdness'. Nothing to do with his politics just a nasty comment that emanates from somewhere dark and nasty. Steve Baker detailed some of the threats he's received, all vicious and personal, O'Brien completely ignored. He's poison
Ha. Same. I listened to the first 10 minutes of Election night, but Lewis Goodall and Jon Sopel were far too hyper. Rachel Burden was much better on the BBC, she has a lovely voice and isn't so into the political weeds, having said that Nick Robinson was just as bad as Goodall and Sopel. There seems to be a real industry now in political punditry, there seem to be as many pundits as MPs and the coverage suffers.
It's much like how football punditry suffers nowadays. The presenters/pundits don't really view themselves as broadcasters for the channel they work for anymore, rather 'brands' that they are trying to get social media clicks for ... that results in them more likely to make click-baity, antagonistic, comments in the hope they go 'viral'. That's why I like Rory Stewart ... I doubt he's gone 'viral' EVER. haha ... far too measured and calm.
I was listening to Ian Collins on Talk and nearly spat my tea out when he described Angela looking like a character from AladdinSo is Yvette (I love refugees) Cooper) as Home Secretary. And with Ed Milliband as Environment Minister we'll have windfarms covering the green belt.

And when the Deputy PM turns up at international conferences, they'll think she's there to empty the bins.

Ironically, Jacqui Smith attains political influence rather than Iain
Not just me then. I've never liked him and thought he would have been more comfortable as a Libdem.I have a pretty high up friend who spent some time with him in her line of work and she found him quite odd and unlikable.
The trouble for Sopel is that the issues for Biden mean that the man who humiliated him (Donald Trump) is starting to look a shoo in as US President. So Sopel must be rattled and nervous.Ha. Same. I'm not surprised he's brought back some old hands. I suspect nearly all of the Labour MP's have zero experience in government so a few experienced people dotted about the place is probably a good thing.
It may bugger up Iain's podcasts and work with her though.
I'm in a quandary ....
I love Midge Ure. Teenage crush and favourite band. I've just seen he's done a Full Disclosure with James O'Brien. I'm not sure my love goes that far.
It's the capital of Austria, which is part of the EU?Vienna is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Not sure how he slots into the Jobbysphere though

Thus this just looks grimmer and grimmer
