It's been eight years since the referendum. Eight years! Eight long years carrying a grudge against those who voted for Brexit. What in God's name does eight years of bitterness and bile do to those who will never forgive or forget?

I'm not even sure what he wants. It's like holding a bitter grudge against your ex and eight years later they say: "You're right, sorry. Do you want to get back together?" But in those eight years the person has completely changed and isn't the same person as the one you initially loved. Does that make sense? To me, that sort of fixation and behaviour smacks of a psychiatric disorder (assuming you take what he says at face value).

A very mild and short technical recession on the back of spiraling inflation is actually a pretty good outcome and the much sought after 'soft landing'.

Instead the whole country seems to be going nuts today, led by idiots like O'Brien , which risks talking ourselves into an actual recession. It is just so bleeping thick.

LBC is getting more sensationalist by the day as it chases an audience that increasingly looks for alternative forms of information and entertainment.

Mathew 'face like a ballbag' Wright summed it up at the weekend when he openly belittled a woman who texted-in to give her view on the situation in Israel. "Diplomats, academics, historians, and politians don't know how to solve the problem between Israel and Palestine but apparenty (can't remember her name) does," he sneered. I just thought, without people like her texting-in and calling-in you wouldn't have a job and secondly, if no one can solve the crisis in the Middle East WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU HAVING A PHONE-IN SHOW ABOUT IT. Ugh, he typifies a certain-type of 'media personality' at the moment. Vile, needy, thirsty-for-attention, twit.

I know I've said it before but I loved LBC back in the day. David Preever, Clive, Jim Davis, Phillip Hodson, Ronnie (Robbie?) Vincent.
Darling Steve with Alan Dodgeon, John someone with a fab voice &Darren fixing computers.
Not so good, Nick Margerrison. I even enjoyed Jobby back then.
He was a welcome relief from the obnoxious John Gaunt.

It really is getting desperate out there in media luvvie land. If they're not all plugging their own or each others books and podcasts they are just trolling (and getting paid to do so).

Navalny has died. I feel physically sick. I know it won't get nearly enough coverage, but it's awful news. I'd urge people to watch the documentary about him if you can ... I'm sure the BBC will show it this weekend.

The Navalny documentary is still on the iPlayer, Ndrangheta. Well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it. Search "Storyville Navalni" or click the link below. I could never understand why he returned to Russia as what has been announced to day was bound to be the outcome. A remarkably brave man.

Can ya guess who it is yet?

If the recent lack of comment on here and DS, is indicative of listener numbers, LBC's figures must go through the floor at weekends. Apart from around 40 minutes of listening to Oli Dugmore yesterday and today, I haven't bothered to switch it on.
There are much better listening options on a weekend, I was listening to the World Service yesterday - Unspun World, a bit of sport on 5live, a bit of Times radio too, Pick of The Pops on R2.
LBC seem to have given up on anything remotely interesting or relating to the Arts, Books or whatever.
There's surely an audience for non-political topics on a weekend?
I wonder what the audience figures are for Sat/Sun on LBC.

is more like a punishment beating than a radio schedule.....

From what I can gather I think Nick Abbot's are good but I can't imagine any of the others are bringing in huge amount of listeners. I couldn't tell you who is on the daytime schedule on a Saturday or Sunday. Matt Frei, Matthew Wright and Carol Vorderman are on there somewhere but I couldn't give you a time.

Nick A cannot take a compliment. Whenever a listener says anything nice but him you can feel his embarrassmenet down the radio.
