I am getting a bit fed up of LBC presenters cutting off calls from general public and selected guests too quickly as they say they need to take other calls. Only for them not to take other calls but repeat their spiel that they have repeated umpteen times over. Ian Payne is quite bad for this and on Sat morning I heard a bit of the horrible Matthew Wright. He had a guest on (John Sweeney) who was very informative, very articulate regarding the Post Office scandal. He was the investigative journalist involved in the Panorama programme in 2015 I think. MW cut him off really quickly saying he had to take other calls only to then go into a 5 minute episode of liking the sound of his own voice.

I agree re the topics too. Listening to Ian Payne this morning about possible WW3 was quite terrifying really.

I voted remain and given the choice I would probably vote to rejoin but James just goes on and on and on.

What I really dislike is that some of James' left wing heroes like Mick Lynch are ardent Brexiteers but James skirts over that. Mick is just wrong on this occasion. Any other member of the voting public who voted Brexit is racist or stupid.

James is even replaying old interviews now. It is like he is stuck in time.

See the usual doombrains elsewhere were working themselves into a frenzy over a show they can't help but religiously listen to every day. I saw a clip of Ferrari interviewing some Labour drone, running rings round her and making her look a complete fool. Maybe that's what drives their hate ?

That thread will probably die if and when Starmer gets in as surely they will have absolutely nothing to complain about. It will all be just perfect. 😂

Judging by the juvenile nicknames, their hatred is largely based on his size. Funny that, because they were outraged when Steve referred to Gordon Ramsey's daughter as 'chubby'.
Nothing from Colin about the fall from grace of his heroes, Sturgeon and Rashford. 😉

As far as I can recall James has been very quiet about Nicola Sturgeon since it all kicked off with her and her husband and the financial inaccuracies of the SNP. He also sounded very mellow after her appearance today despite deleted whatsapp messages.

When any of the Conservatives have behaved like that, which they have, he's blown a gasket.

I saw clip today of James with a caller who said he was going to stand as an independent because he cannot forgive Starmer's stance on Gaza. Fair enough. James was then trying to tell him how he would dilute the vote ... his last words to the caller was about Brexit and a country voting to impose economic sanctions on itself. I wondered how on earth he managed to shoehorn Brexit into a discussion about Gaza. The man is totally obsessed.

All of his political heroes are disappointing him, such are the very high standards he sets for both them and himself. Let's all have a moments reflection and think of him during these difficult times. ... Right, that'll do I've got a massive dump brewing ...

I haven't been here for the past few days as I have been busy!

However, just in are the latest RAJAR figures. Not had the time (or energy!) to look at the figures yet, but I am grateful to Adam Bowie for these snippets of information !

Earlier this month, Nick Ferrari celebrated 20 years as host of LBC‘s breakfast show. In Q4 2023, the station saw reach dip 0.1% on the quarter, and fall 3.0% on the year to 2.5m. Hours were down 1.3% on the quarter and fell 8.3% on the year to 25.6m.
(Don't suppose they will be mentioning this in their news bulletins - BO)


Over at Talk Radio, there were some good results this time out with reach up 5.1% on the quarter and up 19.2% on the year to 725,000. Hours were up 7.8% on the quarter and up 18.2% on the year to 5.5m.

More mixed results at Times Radio where reach was down 1.2% on the quarter and down 12.6% on the year to 492,000. But hours were up 1.7% on the quarter and up 16.0% on the year to 4.0m. (That also means that those who are listening are listening longer, with average hours up to a healthy 8.0 a week).

Checking in on GB News Radio, and its reach was up 8.0% on the quarter, and up 40.5% on the year to 430,000. Hours were down 7.9% on the quarter but up 30.7% on the year to 2.8m. A reminder that the radio station is essentially a simulcast of the TV station’s audio.
 
Has Nick said anything about Sturgeon tearing-up during the COVID enquiry? One of the most pathetic performances I've seen in a while. Of course if he said something like that he'd immediately be branded a misogynist by certain people. I don't doubt she was emotional, but only because she's been found out and her dreams of leading Scotland to Independence are in tatters, along with her reputation. Hearing Alex Salmond lording it over her makes me just as bleeping sick too for the record, awful toad.
