Can’t wait for the election to be announced so that twit Lammy gets taken off the air.

Happy New Year everyone. Well, it finally happened. A terrible portent for the year ahead. James O'Brien appeared in a dream I had last night. The setting? A prison. I think we were both inmates, but I can't quite be sure. As I say, deeply troubling.
There will be speculation whatever LBC do, I suppose?I do think LBC owe it to their audience to give some sort of explanation as to why Andrew is away.
No one wants the details, especially if he is sick but they could address it by a simple 'Andrew is taking extended leave for personal reasons'.
It really shows a contempt for their audience they way they do this with presenters.
Are you ok? Did you get given a copy of Jobby's best seller for Xmas? if so I would recommend a strong laxative and an intensive course of trauma therapy..This will pass..

Any bets on our dear Mayor turning up with Jobby this morning? 'Lemme on with my friend James. I wanna tell everybody about my wonderful firework display. And only let callers on who agree with me.' Sorry, no, but Ferrari can fit you in to talk about knife crime in London.' 'Not f***ing likely.'
I'm usually quite indifferent to Khan but that 'the Mayor of London presents ...' at the fireworks was embarrassing. What a self indulgent, egotistical load of bollocks. That's blazing away in the sky when a 16 year old is stabbing another 16year old to death. Pathetic.

The problem is that the Tory candidate for Mayor seems to be not very good either. If they had put up a decent candidate he or she could have won the election.
Khan will be re-elected I'm sure. There's no credible candidate to challenge him. It doesn't effect me much as I don't live in London but he is a total wet lettuce.
Perhaps the sign should have read: ...Financed by ULEZ...!I agree with you about his re-election.
Unfortunately I do live in London and have to 'suffer' his LEZ / ULEZ rules. Luckily my car was compliant. I think he is all or partly responsible for the Low Traffic Neighbourhood scheme, blocking off entry / exits to roads by putting heavy planters there. All it does is to move the traffic onto another road where there is no restriction, and probably adding extra time to your journey.
Horrendous waste of money in a much publicised Cost of Living crisis and sheer hypocrisy to pollute the sky whilst imposing a "clean" air regime on Londoners.I presume they were environmentally friendly fireworks? Let me guess, everytime one went off a tree was planted somewhere. Probably a tree planted in crap soil, not cared for, and dead within a year.

It just went on for so long though? All that money going up in smoke...I like the fireworks and I do think it's important we hold our own on the world stage ... even if it is something superficial like New Year celebrations. What I did not like was Khan making out it was his gift to us.

In order of most favouriteA fun one to start the new year.
Who are you three favourite presenters and why?
To start the ball rolling:
1: Matt Frei on Saturday mornings: This is my must listen show of the week. Matt's knowledge of world affairs is second to none and he can command top guests on most subjects. He is also able to debate all sides equally and fairly.
2: Andrew Marr: This is my go to news show of the day, on catch up if I can't listen at six. Andrew always has the inside track on Westminster combined with a depth of knowledge of many other subjects and the too can command the top news guests of the day.
3: Rachel Johnson on Sunday evenings. A good listener and debater, very relaxed with callers and often approaches topics from unexpected angles.
One to watch: Carol Vordeman. Listening to her objectively I thought she came over very well, knew her subjects and was able to set them up simply which in itself is a skill. Her hour on the PPE scandal on Monday was excellent and she broke the numbers down in a very digestible way.
