Andrew Castle is trending on social media.

The posts are evenly split between those who do not like his views on Israel and those who do not like his views on landlords.

Colin from Windsor will be furious as he never misses a moment of the show from his former tennis hero.

Andrew is entitled to his views, but he's so bleeping dim. Having the Israel-Palestine situtation explained by some tit old ex-tennis player is dangerously close to Alan Partridge territory. At least Alan is funny, even if it is unintentional.

I haven't been listening to LBC today but have they mentioned their 50th Anniversary at all??

I've not been listening to LBC today, I have been tuning into Boom Radio where they have brought back presenters from many stations over the last 50 years.

As a special bonus, here is a very early schedule (maybe the first ?) for LBC. Click them to see them in readable size!

Nick Ferrari did a short feature on LBC @ 50, it's a bit of a shame that so much local radio has disappeared over the years, swallowed up by the big industry players.
Nice clips of old presenters, the Sat Sports Show etc, (before my time 😁)

Jobby turning the Isreali thing into some bizarre diatribe about Brexit. Click Off. Might turn on in about 45 mins when he's stopped, there could be some interesting callers ... one would hope so because the host is anything but interesting.

At least, in common with 99% of the MM, he's referring to the attack as being by terrorists, a word the BBC has yet to use with reference to what they persist in calling 'militants.'

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom-fighter and all that. It's quite a loaded word. All I know is, it's very sad and the only winners in this whole thing will be the news media ... it's good for business, whether they are called terrorists or millitants.

O'Brien seems to be desperate today. The best reply to this load of nonsense he has retweeted is "Any evidence?"

(1) Mary L Trump on X: "This fucking maniac likely gave Putin (who gave Iran, who gave Hamas) Israel's national security secrets… Plus, he divulged highly classified information about our nuclear subs to an Australian cardboard guy. Why is he still allowed to roam free? https://t.co/gZsxdQiK0G" / X (twitter.com)

O'Brien seems to be desperate today.

He's discombobulated, I think part of him secretly supports the Palestinian cause but he's tit-scared of alienting David Baddiel and the Chiswick set etc. etc. James often goes on about being a keen supporter of a Jewish / Anti-Semitic cause (I can't remember its name), so there's no way he's going to be a neutral arbiter of everything going on in Israel. He's not THAT dumb, he knows which side his bread is buttered when push comes to shove and supporting Palestine doesn't pay the private school fees. It's much easier to bring Trump into the debate because I think most fair-minded people think he's insane and possibly quite dangerous. It's clearly a deflection tactic.

Just on the issue, seeing as it was mentioned in that Tweet, I heard a former Israeli PM on CH4 suggest that Israel's security forces have become so arrogant (under the current hard-right regime) they never actually thought Hamas could launch an attack as devastating as this and essentially took their eye off the ball. That's certainly more likely than some conspiracy involving Trump, at least imo.

I wonder what GCHQ's take on this will be? Questions must be asked about what was missed.

I didn't know that Ian Payne had bipolar. Can't be easy to keep well having to deal with "challenging" callers.

He has mentioned this a few times in his shows. I think it goes back to his marriage break up which he also speaks about often. He was a bit out of his depth re Israel this morning and he had many callers supporting Palestine so he was getting rather ratty.
