I think it is either my thinking or yours.
once when we were putting our beloved German shepherd to sleep there was a couple in there who had decided to put their spaniel to sleep because she kept getting diarrhoea.

This was what I was thinking, maybe he had an accident or something and was diagnosed and they felt they couldn’t cope with the work if he was to get poorlier. My dog wasn’t able to always control her bowel movements etc towards the end and I can’t see these two being able to cope with that.
It seemed so unusual to have him pts there and then when he seemed so young and healthy still. Mine still had a good couple of years before she got too ill and wasn’t enjoying life anymore.
