I agree sorry Dogmuck/thread you’re right I was just shocked when I saw it because it’s just another instance of the Americans doing what they do best aka doing 💩 then blaming others but it’s not on topic and I should have thought about that it just pissed me off because their lies and hypocrisy knows no bounds.
ETA I couldn’t delete so I’ve reported myself and asked them to remove my comment because it’s true I don’t want to derail the thread.

Didn’t mean to be rude at all C hope you’re not offended 🥰 , I just worried about having that as the first post on here and we’d have our “friends” come on and attack us based on that. It's a truly absurd thing to die trying to prove, as the ancient land claim falls apart as soon as you remove the religious aspect of the claim.
The modern Jewish diaspora do have ancient roots in the Levant, that is fact. But it does not mean that those who were living in the Levant in 1948 do not have ancient roots there. The claim Netanyahu and co. have been going with to justify claiming that they are the indigenous people and avoid acknowledging their colonial founding is that the Arabs are in fact invaders (as of 1300-1400 years ago). The problem is, the Muslim conquest was not a colonial shifting of the populace, but foreigners governing over the populace, like the Romans. While that leads to mixing of nationalities or ethnicities, as was the case with the Jewish diaspora, it does not make the populace an invading or colonising people.

Essentially, both the modern Jewish diaspora and the modern Palestinian, Lebanese, etc. people likely descend from the same peoples. So once you take away the "God likes us best and said we can have this!" argument, there is no us vs. them over ancient sites and what they prove for modern land rights. There is only an argument as to who has the land and a right to keep or take it now.

Agreed and the proof of what you’re saying is that the ancient religious sites of all the major religions are all still standing when a colonial power takes over (like the Zionists claim) they will typically eradicate everything and replace it with their own language and culture.
The Zionists have destroyed many religious sites in this Genocide and the only reason they haven’t taken over the Temple Mount is out of fear of reprisals it’s not because they don’t have aspirations to destroy it and build their temple on the land.

God we needed some good news. I’m scared, given the lack of any useful international intervention thus far, that they will be pointless but god I needed some kind of legal establishment to show some balls, it just restores a bit of the credibility, that has been lost during the last 14 months, in the so called rules based international order. It would have been a big win for me several months back but now I see it as a small positive.

Surely this should mean (as it’s a clear indicator of war crimes) that the signatories of the ICC should be looking at sanctions on Israel and their sports teams etc as was done with Russia????

Sorry for multiple postings.

Palestine is an ICC signatory (Rome statue to be precise) 🤭 so those two little sweeties better be careful when they are stomping all over their occupied territory, I would love it if they were captured on occupied land, that would be justice.

However, just heard something that the issuing of these warrants may trigger The Hague Invasion Act, yes you’ve guessed it, a nice little piece of legislation by the Americans from 2002 (wonder why then 🤔) to stop their servicemen and or any other elected or appointed officials from accountability “facing criminal prosecution
by an international criminal court to which the UD is not party". It allows the President to authorise, by any means necessary, the release of any military or ALLIED PERSONNEL from detention by ICC. The act also has provisions to prohibit any aid signatories of the ICC - oh you can see the yanks putting pressure on the poor countries who defy them…that’s why we need BRICS to crush the yank power.
