Inside Missguided: Made in Manchester - Channel 4

Don't get me wrong, I swear like a sailor but the swearing in this was off putting. It was unnatural like they needed to add in swear words every so often to come across as edgy. Also what was with the voiceover constantly referring to people's age and how well they had done in their career already. Sure she said it about about three of the women.

I lasted 15 minutes and had to turn it off. Most cringeworthy thing ever, the "boss babes" are all knobheads and you can tell Missguided is cliquey as hell. It's all just embarrassing.
I know a few people who have worked for them and left within a month or 2/have been there for years but absolutely hate it 🤣.
How did they think this series would seriously come across?!?!?!? Imagine acting like half these girls knowing you're going on tv 🤢

Obviously PLT ended up paying more but its interesting that molly mae turned down the missguided offer straight away, without giving them the chance to counter offer. I think she probably would have done PLT if they paid a bit less, it giver her more credibility because she did videos on her channel with PLT for years before love island.

So I’ve hate watched the other eps and, apart from the serious issues of slave labour and exploitation, I think I’d struggle to find a bigger group of vapid women anywhere on the planet. And the CEO seems like a creep. The business just comes across so badly and don’t get me started on that voice over! I can decide if they thought this doc would feed into their “guerilla” marketing strategy as they put it or if Ch 4 have done them an absolute belter

Treasure irritates the hell out of me. You’re not edgy, you’re just annoying.
The CEO clearly just loves himself.
The head buyer comes across as a witch.
Their marketing strategies are all over the place. They get lots of ‘normal girls’ on board then later release an advert with half naked women on a boat, all with the ‘ideal’ and socially accepted body. They need to decide on a message and stick with it. There is so much more to empowerment than getting naked (I get that it can play a part, but come on, it’s so much deeper than that).

It was interesting but I couldn’t deal with the constant swearing. It doesn’t make them hip, or with it. It’s just really unprofessional and doesn’t reflect the company in a good light. If they think their target audience behaves like that, they’re doomed before they start.

They've fairly good employee reviews on Glassdoor, which is interesting. But some right corkers too, like this one.

I think this is a good point. easy for brands to say we’re all about diversity and inclusivity but often their marketing doesn’t match up and can make women feel insecure. seems like they equate nakedness to empowerment but that’s actually excludes so many women who don’t feel comfortable with it. Doesn’t mean your less empowered just because you want to dress more modestly.

Are the episodes all available somewhere? Would love to watch the rest this weekend!

I watched it and for the most part really enjoyed it. I love Treasure, she’s just full of the kind of confidence you see in someone who is amazing at what they do and I found it very refreshing to watch.

I did cringe myself inside out at the end though when they went to the meeting with Molly-Mae and offered her an £80k Range Rover only to be told she doesn’t drive 🤣 Wouldn’t you think someone would have asked that question beforehand?
Treasure is reality TV gold !
