It’s a popularity contest that will define the ‘legend’.

If other campmates are choosing am thinking Dean and possibly Joe will vote Myleen. Phil may not get that many votes cuz he has been a cruising grumpy git the last few days. Fatima annoyed quite a few people with her bossiness but can imagine Carol and Paul will vote for her. Jordan seems kinda popular.

I just hope Myleen or Phil don’t win.

I'm not condoning insults like that but Sanderson was being paid £1000 by British Athletics whilst Whitbread was paid £10,000 despite Sanderson having won an Olympic gold, I don't doubt she is correct in saying Whitbread got preferential treatment as her mum was the national coach and the head of the promotions board was Andy Norman, family friend who Fatima went on to marry and as mentioned earlier smeared a journalist as a sex pest who later killed himself for suggesting the same thing as Sanderson.

Whitbread and Sanderson were both supremely talented athletes who's achievements outshine 99% of us but I think it's clear Whitbread had the inside track.

Sorry I don't understand this paragraph here:

It's always a popularity contest though 😅 I find usually the opinion of the campmates is fairly in tune with what we are thinking. If we can see someone being grumpy and nit contributing, they defo can too. I still dunno how the actual final will go and don't think the winner will get to boast about their title because they aren't the public's legend!

Sanderson suggested Whitbread got preferential treatment because Whitbread's mother was the national javelin coach and Andy Norman was in charge of promotions for British Athletics and was a family friend (who Whitbread went on to marry).

When a journalist wrote an article saying the same thing as Sanderson years later (That Whitbread had been given a significant advantage due to her connections), Whitbread's then husband Norman falsely smeared the journalist as a sex pest. The journalist later killed himself and the inquest acknowledged the false accusations were significant in regards to the suicide.

Thanks for explaining!! Aw wow, I was trying to find dirt on Norman but couldn't find anything, only that he didn't let Fatima do a Bond Movie but obviously a lot more than that to him!

The only articles I could find about Fatima and Sanderson was that one about Sandersons mean tweets (which I really hated) and one when Fatima said she wished they could have had a friendship rivalry while Sanderson was happy with the out and out rivalry because it really motivated her funnily enough! Thanks for giving me the background, it's good to know!

I still like Fatima and think she's a pretty amazing person but noone is perfect and it's better to be informed!

Yes at the start no one wanted her in the main camp so she must be pretty awful, I remember the elephant in the room when her name was mentioned.

They already said last night they had picked Jordan and Fatima and they were deciding between mylene and Phil for the last spot … mylene has really grown on me this series she doesn’t seem as much up her own ass as she did when she was younger … yea she can’t resist a few bikini shots but if I looked like her in my 40s with a couple kids under my belt Id flaunt it too …. She’s really stepped up to the trials too … I don’t mind fatima but she’s abit bossy … prob jordan to win and mylene second for me

He's a ladies man as well, there was some speculation about him and Linda Barker after they both appeared in IAC 20 years ago, they certainly got very flirty in camp but that's not to say it developed into anything more on the outside.
