One of my main fears about them is the idea of them invading my space. They don’t feel as threatening outside. If she had 2 massive spiders on her bed no wonder she’s terrified.
Also she is a serious newsreader and I can imagine sharing a small space with the ex health secretary on a one to one situation would be really uncomfortable. Again not as uncomfortable OUTSIDE.
Not sure many will understand these 2 rationales but it’s how I would feel.

But there was a huntsman in her bed in main camp in the episode and she still slept in it.

I hate spiders as well so I do understand. But also.... She's literally chosen to spend weeks in the Australian jungle so I can't have much sympathy over the fact she's found spiders where spiders live 😅 If anything, she can ask Matt to do a spider sweep of the RV before bed then she knows she can sleep in a spider free zone for the night (unlike outside where it's a free for all).

Personally I'm of the mindset that she's not sleeping in the RV because she thinks it'll make her seem more selfless and sacrificing - 'Oh, bless Charlene giving up the comfy bed. Good on her for sticking to her guns and not let Matt Hancock '. 🙄 But she's failed to realise that she's literally only inconveniencing her other campmates and doesn't actually have any genuine altruism in her body to at least say "Look, this is my decision so I'll take the hammock" 🥴

Personally I'm glad the other campmates clearly think her choice is selfish as much they "don't want to make her uncomfortable" by, uh, getting a nicer solid bed (while poor Seann's been folded like origami for a week and expected to deal) 🥴

He's happy to witch about matt behind his back like a child in a playground....but can't stand being grilled himself. They will happily eat the food matt has won stars for but then the next minute they're talking about him. Absolute hippocrites. I think Matt is detached from them all in his head whilst putting up a friendly front. As far as he's concerned he has done well during the trials mucked in and will keep up the facade until he leaves . Deep down he knows he is better than them, bar Tindall maybe, and will never see them again whilst pocketing his fee. He is looking at the bigger picture.

I love how Charlene is winding Ant n Dec up with it, ‘she’s not a team player’ 🤣 if it was just about Matt then go and sleep in the hammock
