Ideas for a tv drama...

For years I have an idea for a screen play in my mind. I am obviously not going to give the plot away but it involves heroin addiction and a hidden teen pregnancy briefly. There is a whole lot more to the plot and to be honest, had this idea since i were like 14, i am 34 now and the plot has changed a lot as i grew up.

My questions are....
.....if a teenager hid her pregnancy to the last minute would social services be heavily involved?
Would social services advise her on adoption?
Would social services want the baby taken into care or would the teen be allowed to keep the baby?
Would the teenagers dad be under investigation if they suspected sexual abuse?

Heroin addiction....
....if a baby is born addicted would the baby be taken into care and the mum be arrested?
How long before the baby would be well enough to be taken home?
Can an ex drug addict be accepted into uni to train as an nhs professional if they were clean and really wanted to turn their life around?

And finally....how do these things get noticed and considered? There are always new dramas being made and i always wonder how do they get noticed by these producers.

Of course, my spelling and grammar is better when I am writing but on here, as its just a forum, i use my phone for quickness.

someone i went to school with had a baby at15/16 hid it until she gave birth (from everyone inc parents etc) had no idea who the dad was and as far as i know there was never any issue with social services/her being forcedto adopt. that said she had a supportive and stable family so thta probably played a role

Not sure if this info would be of any help but I used to work in a pharmacy & one of our methadone patients was pregnant. The baby was going to be born an addict & we had to order special medication for the baby (can't remember what it was called). The patient definitely had the baby as she would take her to the pharmacy & social services were involved but she moved away shortly after. Alot of the addict patients seem to have children but most seem to be in the care system. I think it all depends on the stability of the person
