Home and Away

It's like they want to turn Justin into a goofy, funny character. Sorry, only John Palmer makes me laugh. Chris from a few years ago was hilarious, so was Colleen.
Only learned Kirby's name recently, don't know the other girl's name or the bearded guy.
The guy that played Chris is sadly terminally ill now - having fought brain cancer before, he's recently had a relapse and it seems nothing more can be done for him. I liked his character- fun but he did some heavier storylines justice too.

Yes I heard that unfortunately. Poor guy, and he's still looks so happy. I know how he feels, I've been diagnosed with stage 4 not expecting to go past 2 years. Although I'm hoping to beat the odds and still be watching and bitching about home and away in 50 years time 🤞

Wishing you all the best of everything ❤️

I'm happy that they seem to be bringing a bit of diversity to the show with Kirby although it's about bloody time and they should bring more diversity too. It has to be the worst soap regarding this.

Wonder if we will ever get a gay character that spends more than 5 minutes in the show 😂

Never. Do you remember the gay schoolboy who had a crush on Ryder? He eventually came out and disappeared shortly after, never to be mentioned again.

I think they need to keep Dean and Ziggy for a long time, build them a nice family unit, perhaps like Tom and Pippa used to be.
It needs a long standing couple and to get rid of the band and Xander 🥱

I watched today thinking this isn't Home and Away anymore. It seems lost, there is no family unit bigger than 2 people, no children seen, no school shown. Irene doesn't have anyone living with her!
I like the idea of the domestic abuse storyline it has potential but because I've not warmed to Bree or beard guy I feel no empathy towards her.
Usually I love a H&A wedding but I'm not fussed over Flick and Tane, part of me would have liked to see Dean and Ziggy marry.

I'm sending you so much love ♥ Please keep the faith - a dear friend was diagnosed with stage 4 years ago and is still here! 🤗

Casting the Paratas showed they were changing things ...

I'm hate-watching at this point. I stopped watching for a few days; when I returned I pretty much picked up where I left off.

It's just so boring and they've turned Marilyn into a worse soppy sack than ever ... her one line before was - when they were talking about someone's name, "Ooooh she could be a princess." WTF? Weird. Roo isn't much better.

Flick and her same-as-always 'shocked' expression is worse than boring now - I wish she and Cash would go back to the farm!

I do love the scenery but that's about it at this point.

I tried Home and Away after Neighbours ended after 25yrs of not watching it. I did desperately want to get in to it again but the biggest turn off I found was the lack of family..I was brought up on the days of Pippa&Tom/Michael so found this a shock. I also noticed the lack of the school, I think covid was sighted as the reason for this but by your post it seems it's still the same. I do lurk on here though to have a look at what the couple of characters I remember are up to and if it is worth giving another go...

Good grief, Felicity's storylines are the worst. So tired of her and her dramas.

They need to introduce a new family - preferably blended, so there are lots of story offshoots to explore.

I’m really enjoying the show atm. The car crash and the Bree storyline have reeled me back in.

I am no longer minding Rose. She’s alright now she’s stopped mooning over Cash.

Same. I did wonder if she was bisexual at one point, but I think she's just a clingy sort of freind.

I feel like her character has more depth now, which makes her more interesting to watch.

Bree is annoying me. Her character is overly friendly with everyone - no wonder those around her are getting mixed messages.

I was just thinking about the child actor who played VJ for a number of years.

There wasn't any announcement that he was being replaced; he didn't even go away anywhere and magically appear as an older version of himself sometime later ... instead, he was there one day, gone the next:

It was especially silly as his mate Jett was a similar age and build and if my memory serves me correct, was still on the show:

Later it was reported that the producers wanted him to look older. But maybe it was really to do with this?

This is what he has become:

He wouldn't be the only actor to have become involved with drugs:

(Todd Lasance played Aden Jefferies).

(Orpheus Pledger played Mason Morgan).

The older actor who played VJ (Matt Little) was brother-in-law to the guy who played Heath Braxton (no longer, as that marriage broke up). He doesn't seem to have done a lot since he left H&A ... his IG is profile, but a link there diverts to a fundraising page for an all-female production - maybe he's taken on a role behind the camera now?

The character of VJ wasn't the only one replaced - there have been a lot more - it's the most head-scratching one in my view though:
