Home and Away

Does anyone know if H&A is on its Christmas break in Ireland now too? I don't think they announced anything, but it's disappeared from the listings. I think it usually goes off a bit later, but maybe it's earlier this year because of the World Cup. I guess we won't see how the whole Heather storyline plays out until January!

Yes last Friday's episode was the last one I could see listed. I think on Channel 5 they showed one more episode than we've seen on RTÈ?
Typical RTÈ, no mention of it going on break!
(Actually I always switch it off as soon as the credits start so maybe the CA did announce it - I wouldn't have heard!)

Does anyone remember the Kirsty and Kane "love story" storyline. I was a teenager when that was on and in hindsight it was so messed up.
He raped her younger sister and then she fell for him, wasn't that the gist of it?
The guy that played Kane is involved in the production of Irish soap Fair City now.

Yeah he raped Dannii and they turned it into a forbidden love storyline. That's just crazy, it would cause an uproar today if something as stupid as that was aired.

Gosh Roo is exhausting - she's just always taking over things, organising, hustling ...

I won't detail what I'm referring to as I don't think it's aired in the UK as yet, but those in AU and NZ will know what I mean.

Xander has not improved at all (and I do feel the issue is the actor - he's just blah, rather than the storylines/character) ... such a strange casting choice.

I don’t like any of the new characters to be honest. Find them all so bland. I’m glad the UK 2022 finale focused on the older characters.

NZ/AU speed, so I'll put in a spoiler:

I'm just up to the episode where Jacob has turned up. Does anyone else think Rose is developing feelings for what's-her-name (Theo's g/f)?

Okay it’s back. First episode I’ve caught so no idea how the Marilyn thing resolved
Justin reported Leah and the gang missing, the police found that the girl had killed her adopt mum.
She took Marilyn hostage onto the roof but she fell off and in the hospital, Marilyn told her they couldn’t have a relationship after what she’d done to her friends.
Marilyn then ran off as she couldn’t get over what her daughter had done

Thanks very much.

Queue Heather returning in 6 months reformed 🤣

I know I've said this before, but Xander and Rose are just the worst characters! Every interaction of theirs is just so awkward and forced. Also, Rose turning up at Xander's date was just downright weird. I hope those characters leave soon. They only moved to the Bay to get to know Jasmine, so why are they still there?!

They really need to add some new likeable characters. A new family and a re-introduction of the school would be good too.

Has anyone heard of upcoming character exits for 2023? I heard that Nikau is leaving and also read somewhere that Ziggy and Dean are leaving - though I'm not sure if that's just a rumour.

I have seen the same, not looked on Back to the Bay recently but think the rumours are true. I think they do need new characters who will stay long term or the show we suffer in the long run. Read this week that Ray Meagher (Alf) has signed a new contract which is a good thing though wonder if Martha will ever be mentioned again lol.
