I came to say exactly this. It makes it look like all the others before this announcement haven’t actually quit.
 
Who are peoples guesses on who else is axed ?
I feel sorry for the cast members that have only known that one role , what else are they going to do ?
I reckon Jack , Pearl , Zoe , some of the McQueens, Misbah , Zain and Dylan will be axed

apparently Hollyoaks actors all get paid the same wage, no matter their longevity on the show, it depends how much they are featured in the episode

The link to that screenshot explained it more and said they all get paid the same per episode, but it depends how much they’re in it. So if they’re the main focus they get more but if they are in the background scenes and have a couple of lines they’ll get the lower end and if they’re not in it all then they don’t (I don’t know that for certain it’s just what I read)
 
Around 10-12 years ago, I can’t remember exactly but it was when I first started using Twitter I remember people always tweeting Steph Waring and saying why are you not in the show and her saying sometimes you just get less storylines but it was months where she just wasn’t seen at all it was weird and then I think they brought back one of the old producers and all of a sudden she was getting storylines again. No real point to this but she was always so graceful about the show in her replies and a lot nicer than I’d have been if someone wrote me out for months without even saying where I’d gone.

That reminds me when the girl that played Esther was hardly seen and her bio read something like “You can see me in Hollyoaks… sometimes… not very much”
 
I wonder how much of the backstage drama contributed to these decisions in the long run? It seems like ages ago now but there was rumours of racial remarks being made backstage that apparently caused Lisa to leave and Marnie to be axed, and something with Brooke and Original Olly. Also the whole Mandy and OnlyFans thing
