I haven't watched Hollyoaks since 2016 and started watching it again, just after Christmas. It's amazing how easy is is to just slip into the storylines and what with all the old characters back, it's like I actually haven't missed anything!
I'm beginning to wonder if anything actually happened in those 8 years!

I’m the same! Only just picked it up round the same time. I stopped watching through Covid and there’s such a difference in the storylines now. Gives me something to watch in the evenings!
Charlie Claphams dad pierced my nose in 2014 that’s about as close I’ve managed to get to him
but I’ll wait in line too

In Fridays ep Marie said to Norma “it’s nice to catch up now I’m back” but surely they didn’t know each other because it only just came out in the last year or two that she’s Warren’s mum. I know Hollyoaks aren’t exactly known for keeping things realistic but still noticed it

Not a soap obviously but I liked when the Fresh Prince broke the fourth wall and made jokes about the changing of the moms and the rapid aging of NickyNot quite the same but my favourite was when they changed the actress of Holly Cunningham and Cindy said have you had your hair done you look different

Ive always said that I much prefer that over our soaps where someone’s parent has died and they can’t possibly attend the funeral in London because they’re currently living in Spain! Even if they don’t want to recast they should have some “back of head” shots and acknowledgement they were there!
