Did you see this on tv the other day perchance? Because I had this exact same conversation just a few nights ago as I had never seen any F and Fs and didn’t know she had a part 😂 She was also in Game of Thrones for the majority of the series. Tbf Hollyoaks has the most impressive post-Hollyoaks careers for former actors, not just UK popular shows but the example given above. And let’s not forget James Corden has practically dominated the American late night TV circuit for the last decade or so (I personally can’t stand him).

She was better than her stepsister! She was diabolical! And tbf I remember Sasha’s character and the actresses acting improving nearer the end of her run.

No. I’m in a Hollyoaks group on Facebook and just saw it there but I do often think it when I see her

I remember James said he didn’t like Hollyoaks and thought some of the people he worked with had no drive or something like that. It’s harsh but maybe he was right. He’s done better than all of them

Some people are more ambitious than others and that often gets mistaken for success when really, it’s indecent human beings trampling over others, where decent people wouldn’t do such things. Not saying that’s definitely the reason for James Corden’s career, but there has been a lot of stories about him being absolutely vile…
 
Watching today's episode atm, wtf is this diabetes thing, makes no sense. But also does anyone else think they've done badly how they're portraying donnamarie as a heroin addict? Her teeth are a mess yes but her skin looks fine, when John Paul was an alcoholic I think theybdid a really good job of making him look puffy and unhealthy

John Paul looks puffy because of this IMO:


“Just looked it up - he is 40 in real life. He has one of those faces that is youthful but looks aged (understandable at 40). Owen Jones has a similar face/genes and is going through the same thing”

Also, soaps always show alcoholics as glamorous IMO, dangerously so, as well as their alarmingly speedy recovery times to alcohol addiction to most in real life, as well as all of them swigging neat vodka/brandy in the middle of the street even when their home is a 2 minute walk away, and those who are alcoholics in real life would prefer a mixed beverage in private away from prying eyes. Of course, it’s a soap, it’s not meant to be 100% realistic but they do have responsibility. I remember seeing an article before from an alcoholic and he said along the lines of “it’s hard to be able to not see adverts for alcohol on tv and to not hear for alcohol on the radio, and then come home and the most watched and viewed shows on TV in the UK every night are all central around pubs and alcohol.” Which is (kind of) true.

Bug JP looks fine now (imo) I mean when he was an alcoholic they made him look bad. Agree with rhe unrealistic portrayal though, not an expert in additiction but thinking about the dangers of withdrawal locking someone in a room without access to a phone... I was imagining them coming back to find her dead or something

i know it’s a typo and I’m being immature but I’m laughing at the defence of the actors looks by calling him “bug John-Paul” 😂

He looks fine to me too, it’s just he’s coasted on his twinky looks and now middle age is catching up with him, very, very fast, having previously coasted, and it shows. I am going through a similar stage so this is an empathetic post, rather than bitchy!

i don’t remember the storyline you said in particular but from the sounds of it I agree it sounds unrealistic and potentially irresponsible to impressionable viewers.

Oh god the stepsister? Was that Lauren the goth? She was one of the worst ever.

As for James Sutton, does anyone follow him on instagram? He’s always posting videos of himself in the gym which I enjoy!
 
Does anyone else think the new Lucas hasn’t really been in it at all much since the actor joined in March? Also, looking the date he joined online I learned that Leah is not Ste’s daughter and that he has one!

Edit: in fact, has Ste and new Lucas even had a storyline together?

Yeah Ste’s has a kid with Sinead.

I know Ste has raised Leah forever but it always seemed odd to me when he was going through the custody battle with Amy that she never brought it up

I don’t even remember the custody battle storyline! I miss Amy, I wish she wasn’t killed off. I don’t remember Ste and Sinead’s daughter either. What happened to Sinead? Did she die?
