How are you sure? You’re the first person I’ve seen saying it was his own decision. And I’ve never seen such a frosty and almost hostile statement put out by Channel 4 before.

It did seem really off. When they do these Skype type exits it always seems to me that they have just got rid of the character quickly.

Either way, look at the difference between the two responses from Channel 4/Hollyoaks between Serena (not really that popular a character) leaving (of her own accord, or not) and original Ollie (popular character) leaving (of his own accord or not):
