Hocus Pocus 2

I think the only 'woke' angle you could possibly infer compared to the original is the toning down of the evil sisters in this version. The combination of the lighting in the pharmacy scene and the digital filming now vs 35mm film stock then is really jarring for making things look cheap but I am a film snob that way I suppose. The Sisters definitely weren't as much of a threat this time around, I will rewatch the original to confirm but there is more urgency in the original because the kids have to outwit them to escape constantly and Thackary Binx works well speeding up some scenes by quickly explaining things. In the original the kids are constantly on the run but in the new one the dynamic is less urgent. Ultimately it's aimed at kids and if they enjoy it, mission accomplished but I'm not sure I'll bither rewatching this one, whereas I always watch the original around this time of year!

Just watched it for the second time. Where is the bit in the credits with the cat that everyone’s talking about?
