I've heard both BDSM and gay rumours on Cavill. Datalounge has some fairly solid tea about the gay rumours. The CDAN stuff I'd take with a heavy pinch of salt. Some of their stuff is accurate but that's usually big stuff that's not very well covered up already (Weinstein etc). The authorship of the website is extremely dodgy.

There are also stories about him drunkenly picking up women in the most obnoxious way (sth along the lines of "wanna sleep with Superman?") and not giving a shyte whether these were married women.
I never particularly bought into the gay rumours, mostly because of the stories of him being a dog and because the gay stuff seems to stem from his friendship with a longtime friend who's gay, but he might be playing for both teams, no clue.

I know that he used to be roommates with a gay guy during his early days in LA, I think the gay rumours might be coming from that. He'd often hang out with that friend and go with him to gay bars, because he was his only/first friend and was taken into the guy's social circle, they were still friends when he made Superman, don't know whether they still are. I think that friend was also married and in a solid relationship and friend and his hubby attended at least one of the Superman premieres.

I don't have a horse in this race, I really don't care about actors' sexual orientation, but I am curious.
What puts me off of actors is finding out shyte like the nasty stuff about Armie Hammer. Yuck.
If Cavill's gay he should come out and call it a day, I doubt it would affect his career.

No, he's still "Superman" and I think at least one more film is due to be filmed? Even if that doesn't happen, as it is for now, the project has neither been shelved nor has he been replaced (and there are no plans for that).

I only think that in this day and age it wouldn't quite be allowed to shelve him for being gay (I know there's fear and it can happen), for another he is still in this role, so even less likely that he'd be booted whilst in middle of such a project (and the Witcher is doing exceedingly well).
On top of that I think it would be good for the gay community, because stereotypes are still rife that gay men are all effeminate and gay women are all butch and we know that's not true. If Cavill were gay, it would be a nice step towards breaking down this notion.

I also know that he was with a young girl when he filmed Superman, introduced through his trainer at the time, seems they've had a falling out since. Anyway, that girl was I think still in school? She was 18 or 19, went on hols together with the trainer and his wife, on a smaller yacht. That never made the media and he never introduced her or talked about her, which is why I doubt the gay rumours, because there have been women only a few know about.

Someone mentioned on the celeb thread Gina being for PR, which I could kinda see, she'd be his beard and he would help her kinda break into films, which she was trying at the time (a "female action star" was the tried approach), but honestly, there's too little interest in Cavill by media and Gina and he used to live together and be seen by fans and that never made the media either, because again, media never cared except when premieres happened. So that being a PR relationship is unlikely, why live together in some partly remote parts of the US while training for a role and filming, when literally no one cares except the odd fan and what was the likelihood of fans approaching them (and even less likely stories and pics going viral).

Now the Kaley Cuoco thing.... That was baffling and definitely PR, I think they both wanted to try their hand at the H'weird game, but failed and didn't try again, it was too obvious anyway.

That would def make sense about the roommate and the rumour mill - thanks, I didn’t know that. I definitely agree with you that if he IS gay or bi he should come out, there are so few actors who are openly out and still get that type of leading role. It can and should be done!

I thought about this a little after I wrote my post and it occurred to me that if he's fully straight, then he must be a very secure person, esp as he was also quite young back then when he moved to LA.

You have these stories of fragile whiny baby masculinities, who break of friendships when a friend comes out or refuse to go to a gay club or socialise with anyone or anything gay/"gay", as if it's a transmittable disease.

And then you have guys who are straight, meet new people, have no other friends (which moving city/country/continent tends to do, like happened to HC when he moved to LA) and have no problem hitting up gay clubs and hanging out with gay guys, because the roommate is gay and "established" (i.e. has a social circle).

I read some thread(s) on datalounge on him, where everyone swears up and down that he's gay, but the only evidence are pics of him at a pool and clubs with this roommate of his and his friends. All very harmless (just a bunch of guys having a drink).
On datalounge they also swear up and down that every guy is gay, so there's that. Can't always take them seriously.

Look at Hugh Jackman, very persistent gay rumours, but then his wife recently wrote an article where she said the rumours started after he starred in a broadway musical playing a gay guy. This was around 2000, about when the internet hit the mainstream. No wonder the rumours are there since what feels like forever and are based on some proper bs.
Leo DiCaprio must be handicapped then... (some actually believed he was, because his acting was so good!)

Anyway, I don't believe the gay stuff because what I wrote earlier, but it's not impossible that he's bi.

I think due to his cocky dog behaviour in the past his fame went a bit to his head.

I also don't buy all the rumours, esp those originating from some blind gossip sites, as some are notoriously unreliable.

He's gay, into bdsm, has herpes, is into teens, girls, boys, threesomes....

I’ve been trying to find a decent link but it’s just tons of media interviews about the time he got a boner on set, and lots of saucy fan fiction. Sorry! Even the general press stuff seems to suggest he’s very highly sexed so I’d say if that’s what you see on the surface there’s a lot more underneath.

Was the girl he dated not the one everyone knew about, or a different one? Interesting. Do you know people who know him? I like your posts on the royal thread, you seem well versed in things!

BIB: That was me. PR doesn't necesarily have to be bearding, the celeb-as-duck lady says she knows of plenty of PR relationships who live together, some have arranagements for a few years. But again, I honestly and truly have no idea and am speculating at this point but sure, maybe I am totally wrong about Gina. I think the PR thing about her came from reading it on other sites.

TBH, the whole gay thing did stem from DL, I had no idea or suspicion prior to seeing the threads there. I know what you mean and they do claim it with many actors but I certainly don't think everyone is gay, but there definitely are closeted and bi actors. There's sadly lot of bi erasure there and people are often labelled either straight or gay. There are so many inconsistent rumours about HC and it's hard to know what's going on and the women he dated are all so different. Gina is in her 30s, the blonde rider (sorry, I don't know her name) was much younger.. also, did you ever hear about the actress, who was much older, and claims she was with him when he was a lot younger? I saw this today actually. It's hard to know what to think and I often change my mind. :)

I do agree that blinds are hugely unreliable, especially CDAN.

The girl I mentioned never made the papers, as I wrote he never spoke about her and never introduced her anywhere, except his trainer at the time and the trainer's wife. She was brunette and was generally regarded as... "crazy". She was US American and this happened in the US, trainer & wife are also US Americans. There were pics of her socials online, she was into hunting and had smeared blood of some deer all over her face and was laughing, toting her gun. I think that's where the "crazy" label partly came from, and I can't say I disagree, that's quite disgusting (Armie Hammer territory LOL).
I only remember her name, not her surname, but won't write it in public as she isn't in the public eye and it's not really fair, esp. on her.

No, sadly I'm not that much of an insider and don't know him personally or his family. I used to read his imdb thread occasionally and even though many a poster went too far, there was some smoking hot tea there to be found, like all the info about the barely legal US gf and pics and everything. I just happened to be at the right time in the right digital place 😂 I was so mad when imdb closed their forum, don't know where the posters went (if anyone knows or was a poster there, please raise your hand and spill some tea and tell us where to find more!).

But because of his and Gina's living arrangements (imdb boards were still up and people gathered the fan sightings there) I doubt it was solely for PR. PR was beneficial for both for sure, but that was more like a nice side effect. I don't think anyone moves to bmfck countryside for anyone for PR and then doesn't even get column space out of it (would be a pretty bad deal!).

It's good to get other perspectives on things, or talk to people who have a bit more information, as you do. I heard IMDB were a good source of information but I never actually knew they had forums. I forget some people are actually very good at digging up things and researching. Why did they close down?

Yes, I actually think it's sound advice to take DL or any other place with a pinch of salt, although I am at least inclined to change my mind about things. I had given it some credence based on people who swore blind they had aquainances or saw him on the scene before he was famous and he was an 'out' gay man. Again, he may have been on the scene a lot but that's not a declaration unless people saw things. I heard the roomie thing, plus how his entire social cirlce in WeHo was gay. That could make sense if he's bi. But he may have a wide range of pals....I do not know. Did you ever see any photos of he and Corey, other than the hugging ones and him licking his face? Apparently they said the more intimate photos were scrubbed? I did see the poem which he dedicated to Henry, which could be taken two ways, I suppose. Either a love poem, or a poem for a loved friend. There was a poster on ONTD on livejournal who said he and his roomie definitely knew Henry and they laughed when he was engaged to Kaley, or something like that. Again, it's all very conflcting and I suppose I will say that maybe he's at least bi? Maybe Miss Mystery will give us some more tea ! Thanks for the infomation about Gina and also, the namless girl. I do agree, I would not name her either if she private and had never been identified publicly.

When you said you think he just takes any woman who throws herself at him with no regard for age as long as she's legal, willing and impressed, that makes sense too. HC is a good looking man, more than good looking...he looks like he's sculpted by the Gods! lol The ladies he's publicly dated are definitely not unnatractive ( I would never put anyone down based on that anyway) but they're normal pretty women, if you get my meaning. I think people expect HC to be with models, so they probaby also thought he's gay because of that too. I'm not saying it, but that's another thing I saw thrown out there. People have different tastes, that is definitely true. You know what they say, one man's meat is another man's poison. I guess they can't win - if they date only perfect looking models they're shallow, if they date a normal looking woman something must be amiss. Like you said, it may or not be true about the younger women thing and if it is, not a shock either. It's Hollywood after all. I just wouldn't believe a rumour based on blinds alone, that's dangerous.

lol, yes. A frau, I have seen that term being used! Some of the names they mentioned I definitely have not bought into, like Jennifer Aniston? I'm not saying it's impossible but I don't think so. I read more than I post. I do enjoy the witty comments a lot of the time, but they can be very, very snappy. I just wanted to explain that I don't think that about everyone as it definitely can be the case there, I do agree. I try and hear the tea and try to decide, other than "he pings". I mean some do ping, but you know what I mean. lol
