I remember Lorna and the army guy being consistently the best while the winner seemed to veer between above-average to good. Although, the army guy seemed to seal his fate by designing the dreaded skanklet. Patrick was aghast.

I've just watched that series. I was surprised, I think he got lucky with others making mistakes and him doing well rather than being the best overall.

Sad about to hear about lorna at the end of an episode in series 4
 
I get the impression that Rebecca thought she'd be the young cute one of the series but then she got to the set and found Serena who is younger, cuter and better, and she's had a face like a slapped arse ever since.

I really want Farie to get to the final as she has a good level of design flair like Raph, just hope that next week she manages to finish everything! Serena is technically amazing at following patterns and i dont find her smug, but she's not creative.

I thought her little culottes dress thing she made was lovely. Well sewn well thought out and she’d incorporated a few good finishing touches. Inevitably she will be in the final.
 
I think Raph is just lovely. Quiet and gentle and just gets on with no fuss.

I'm still not entirely ruling Farie out of the final. Serena is a dead cert, but if Farie actually manages to complete a garment in the first challenge and it's good and then does a very good final item, which she usually does, then she could benefit from Rebecca or Raph making mistakes.

I hate that females are pitted against other females like this, “she thought she was the young cute one”. You are projecting a bit here, It’s really misogynistic. You don’t know that at all. You don’t get two guys in a competition who both want to win, and then say X thought he was going to be the cute one so his nose is out of joint because Y is younger and cuter. He must everything be about females attractiveness?

Both Rebecca and Serena seem dull to me. Serena has the edge with her precision sewing but creatively all very safe, Rebecca has hardly made an impression. Raph has got the ideas, as has Farie, but Farie’s perfectionism lets her down, it holds her back from finishing. So my top three would be Serena, Raph, and Farie.
 
Farie definitely has time management issues but when she is able to control that she is one of the best. I'd like a Farie, Serena and raph final.

I don't mind Rebecca but I kind of feel like she's got to the final by accident and has rarely ever stood out until last couple weeks

I didn't mean cute as in attractive, more cute as in adorable like when you get someone really young in Bake Off. And maybe its the way Rebecca has been edited. But whatever. For what it's worth I agree with you on the top 3 and I think I want Raph to win.

I kind of feel this way too. She is very much middle of the pack to me. I also don't know if it was editing by the producers but the 'I'm second to Serena' stuff really got on my nerves.
I'm a broken record but Raph's made to measure was just stunning. I know I mentioned similar in a previous post but there is just something about the way he choose cuts, fabrics and colour that I really adore in a way that I just don't with anyone else in the competition.
 
While I agree the right person left this week (sadly) I was still annoyed at the judges turning a blind eye to Farie's issues with her final dress. OK, they mentioned the pulling and puckering but glided over them quickly, saying it was a stunning dress. I felt it was poorly constructed and I couldn't see 70s disco in it at all, looked more like mid 80s to me.
