Aw, to be fair to them, its not Big Brother. They shouldn't be judged on their personality.
They won't have been chosen purely for their sewing ability though. They need to make a good TV show so they cast for all kinds of things. Sewing Bee has the advantage of the presenter and judges all having lots of personality so I think the final will be good whoever is in it.

Yes, I agree, and I have commented on personalities, too, but I always feel a bit sad when quieter people get labelled as boring.

UK Tattlers! On iplayer all the past seasons of Sewing Bee have magically appeared! I only started watching last series so I think I am going to go back and watch series 1-5 😊

Oh thanks for this! It's like the early bake off, they are a touch more serious but still well worth a watch. Not sure about the original judge, claudia is great though as usual.

Patrick though...wow! I mean he still looks great but younger Patrick is incredible

Also for those that like these type of shows I'm enjoying the Great British Photography Challenge (or something like that) on bbc4 and on iplayer. Less humour and more serious but if you like Photography or these creative shows it's worth a watch

I will be rewatching my favourite series this weekend. For anyone who hasn't watched all of them, I highly recommend season 3. Great characters and great sewers. I loved Lorna, who was so elegant and she got in to sewing because of how tall she was, and Neil who was in the army and sewed dresses for his wife as well as fixing everyone else's clothes when deployed.

I'm rewatching from the beginning. I've seen 5 and 6, 6 my favourite so far but looking forward to seeing them all. Getting more desperate for things to watch so this is a godsend

The music in this series is the underappreciated star.

I want to see Raph in the final (obvs) but I'm torn between the others - Serena seems a shoe-in though. I really don't rate Rebecca (soz Bex) and unlike the judges and everyone else I really didn't like her party dress made to measure but only because that lace overlay pattern was eurgh to me.
I would either have preferred an actual fairy light pint overlay (I have the taste of a 10 year old) OR a more floral lace overlay - her choice looked a bit modern net-curtainy to me.

However I don't know if Farie or Damien are consistent enough for the final. But if I had to choose - Raph, Serena and Farie.

I’m glad Rebecca finally got to come first bless her. I liked Raph’s outfit, but I actually thought Serena’s disco dress was saggy. I think the final will be Raph, Serena, Rebecca (assuming Farie does another unfinished garment).

Despite Rebecca laughing that Serena kept beating her, she came off as unpleasantly competitive to me. Same as when she wouldn’t tell Damien about playsuits. Even Joe commented that the contestants normally help each other. I also predicted she’d get garment of the week if Damien stuffed up again almost as justification for her making it to the semis without a single win as yet.

I love Faries pieces but am surprising myself with how frustrating I find it when she still doesn’t finish! (No way I could be displacing anger and frustration about anything else so it’s definitely proportional.....) Damien really really grew on me and I ended up really liking him. With the pattern challenge he made me laugh, I can have no zip or do it the way I know works, seems legit to me! His genuine enjoyment made Rebecca’s attitude stand out all the more. But what was that disco dress? I felt like he was trolling at that point! Disco? 70’s? Right well 80’s pattern made out of a sofa do you?!

What did you think of the winner that year? I remember he seemed to come a bit out of left field. I remember Lorna and the army guy being consistently the best while the winner seemed to veer between above-average to good. Although, the army guy seemed to seal his fate by designing the dreaded skanklet. Patrick was aghast.
