raph's end dress and festival outfit was horrific. his friend was rude too so didn't exactly endear me towards him.

I did catch her making a bit of a snarky comment about (I think) Rebecca. I may be Raph-biased but I think the way he nervously laughed was a bit "I would like you to stop talking but I also can't really do anything about your bitchfest right now because I have too much tit going on"

Maybe?

Yeah I agree I took it the same way

It could be editing but I didn't think his friend came across that well either.

maybe but if they're friends and she's willingly making bitchy comments about other contestants when she knows she's being filmed, i just think what the hell is she like when they're alone and how are they still friends. not the type of person i'd surround myself with and especially not the type of person i'd choose to come and appear with me on a tv show! i just don't think it was in the spirit of the sewing bee which is typically friendly competition and not putting other people's designs down (even when they're shocking).

I missed the snarky comment, what did she say?

I've just started watching this, and love it!

I'm one of those strange people who gets super-motivated watching cooking shows while I'm cooking, cleaning shows while I'm cleaning, and now I've discovered this I will enjoy hemming my curtains whilst watching . I'm up to S01E02.

I really like the male judge - he's interesting to listen to and delivers his critique without being mean. Claudia is an excellent host.

Awww ... bye Mark :( ... oh no, Tilly too! I really liked her  ... I think the blonde woman with the ponytail should have gone home.

The older lady whose daughters said her pattern was "mumsy" is really lovely.

I was really pleased with the winner. Thought they had been consistently a brilliant sewer throughout but also developed in design.
Always liked Raph from day one but his final
Dress just fell a bit flat and the material looked cheap.
Rebecca’s dressed looked like something you’d buy from Quiz. She seemed very sheltered and maybe not very worldly. Nothing wrong with that but do think that hindered her in some design ways.

Ha ha me too, I binged all the episodes last week whilst sewing  My favourite “final” dress of all series was a horseriding inspired one, which you will get to soon(y)

Oh dear ... so, when I first posted I was watching a series hosted by Claudia and the judges were lovely. This week, I watched a later series hosted by a guy (who is not funny - and cracks jokes that nobody laughs at), and the two judges aren't as nice as the ones I remember from the first show. Why, oh why, did they change it?

If you mean Joe Lynett. I thought that, he grows on you. The last series was so warm, they all liked each other and had a laugh.

Patrick was a judge when claudia was on, esme is new. Agree about joe 🙄

Patrick was on North West news yesterday about growing and spinning flax and making them into Jeans. - The project is being run by designer Patrick Grant, a judge on the U.K. television show “Great British Sewing Bee” and the founder of Community Clothing, a social enterprise focused on creating and sustaining jobs in the U.K.’s textile regions. The jeans will be part of Community Clothing’s commercial collection.
It was strange to see him in jeans, boots and Barbour jacket but he still looked good. :giggle:
