Great British Bake Off 2023

Yeah Josh probably is the best of the remaining few but if he goes that's it for me, something about this year's show feels off, finding it hard to actually sit through.
I’m wayyy behind on watching it and not really felt like I had to rush to watch. I had a couple episodes playing in the background yesterday and I’ll probably do the same today to catch up as I’ve got a day off today.

I loved the start of this years Bake Off. with Alison’s bubbliness and working well with Noel.. the challenges getting back to basics and not shite theme weeks..

But I fear they got rid of the wrong people too early. Rowan was a great watch and I enjoyed Abbi’s quirkiness too (proper GBBO contestant!) A bit like Strictly got rid of Les Dennis too early so there’s no one to laugh at 🤣 Even Nikki I found funny at times.

Now Cristy is boooooring the life outta me, Dan’s really rubbing people up the wrong way with his smug attitude, Matty doesn’t have what it takes to make the final, Josh is a bit forgettable & simple tbf and Tasha has started giving me the ick. Saku was my only hope I can’t believe she went out I was always hooting laughing at her!

Agree 💯

I'm still enjoying the series but they lost all the likeable contestants too soon. Matty has really grown on me and I love that he doesn't take anything too seriously. He'll probably be next to go and then it will be a slog to the final.

I know it's a contest but do they not realise we love an underdog, a quirky character to tune onto every week. I think Brendan was my fav of all time and I loved Paul, think he passed away?
I enjoyed watching Saku, fun unusual flavours.
Josh I'm sure is a nice lad but yea he needs to stop with the granny homage.

But it's a baking competition not a personality competition! Sometimes the judges do get it wrong with regards to who they send home or award star baker but they can't keep someone in just because they're entertaining! These are just normal people on the show, they've probably never been in front of a camera or on national television 🤷‍♀️

It was the lovely Luis who sadly passed away.

Paul was the guy who made the amazing bread lion.

You cannot tell me we have ever had a cast as good as that years cast. This was the year I properly fell in love with Bake Off. There has been some great Bakers since, Tamal, Luis, Nancy, Paul, Andrew, so many. But no year overall was as good as them.

Brendan the Bakernator was bleeping robbed, and Paul hated how 70's a lot of his bakes were.

Cathryn and Sarah-Jane were iconic. "Why am I crying over cake?", "Oh my Giddy aunt!", and the iconic dough slapping disaster resulting in Cathryn refusing to serve Mary Berry green carpet (she had no issue serving it to Paul of course).

James and his knitwear.

Danny was just a BAMF. first aiding John as well when required.

John wasn't the irritating prick he is now, but was a cute little twink and salted his rum bah-bahs.

Missed last nights episode due to a delayed flight followed by lost luggage (eventually found) then a massive taxi queue. Sounds like one I actually don't want to watch on catch up.
I called out Dans smugness way back in week 1 when he won star baker. He's like that absolute prick in an office who everyone can't stand but always manages to come up smelling of roses and you can't wait for karma to land him on his smug arse.

If he does win there is no way that people will be lining up to give him a cookery show, appearance on This Morning, cookery book….
