They had on Charlene Spirterri (sp?) from the band Texas who has coeliac disease and the host Matt Tebutt made loads of jokes and was really dismissive of her and then proceeded to serve up a dish that had a great junking slice of normal bread on it! She just ate around it but obviously a cross contamination nightmare. Then when she mentioned gluten free again he said ‘’we really don't want to hear it’’ It was just so shocking to see that on prime time morning tv. Then the host was a twit about it on Twitter when a few coeliac influencers/charities got involved. All in all a bad time for allergy awareness in general.

On happier note I have my fingers crossed for Chigs and Giuseppe to be in the final with either of them winning. I like Crystelle and Jurgen but they just haven’t grown on me the same as those two. I do think it should be Jurgen in the final though based on consistency and skill.

I suspect the editing is more 'cynical' now than previously, and its edited to make it look like certain things are happening, then there is a twist at the end. So all the way through its seemed like Jurgen was a shoe in, then Chigs nicks it at the end! I thought it was going to be Crystelle but now I'm not so sure. She's not inventive enough. She's done loads of rose piping ( beautifully, but easy to master if you're doing it over and over again) and loads of the dreaded miso.
OTOH,Lizzie was really funny on Extra Slice, but I'm finding the programme irritating. I'm not sure why!
 
I randomly saw a clip of Sarah Jane and Kathryn doing the smacking method of kneading bread dough, where Kathryn ended up with her dough on the floor and not wanting to serve Mary Berry carpet. The whole vibe felt instantly unrecognisable to the show today even if they are all still friends and get on etc.

This would be my ideal outcome! Genuinely think dark horse Chigs might win it you know!! I would be happy with any of them winning which seems a far cry from last year when I couldn’t care less about any of the finalists.

Snacks for tonight everyone? I’m thinking profiteroles..
