My in laws are all from the Forest of Dean and have far stronger accents than the new people, maybe they are using their TV voices? I did find them irritating though.

Can’t stand Giles and Mary or the two sisters. The new mother seems equally irritating. No problem with the rest.

I haven't watched it in ages, so I decided to give Friday night's episode a go and quickly realised why I stopped watching.

Giles and Mary are annoying and are way past their sell by date. He thinks he's hilarious, despite acting the same for God knows how many years. Even the sisters from Leeds seemed more annoying with their conversation about their Aunty coming back off their holiday where they were deliberately sounding more northern "at t'caravan on t'donkeys in Skegness".

For me, I think it's become a victim of its own success. Everyone on it is so aware of the cameras now, even the old timers, so hardly any of it feels natural.
