Ginny and Georgia

Finished season two….

i really wanted to like it but it leaned far more towards “teen drama” than season 1, I feel they’ve completely lost there way with Georgia’s story, we have about 3 dead husbands (one not her own) and they’ve now thrown in an abusive ex, the Kenny story is briefly mentioned every few episodes then dropped again, i feel like the writers don’t know where they’re going with this yet, it was just a whole load of padded out filler episodes with max and Marcus taking up far too much of the time. Who gives a flying duck if Max likes Silver, let alone 4 bleeping episodes of fucks, I’d watch season 3 but it doesn’t seem to know where it’s going, and when your “bad ass” rebellion is hair mascara for 2 days you’ve lot me. And the self harm/lighter storyline just felt like a “teen drama tick the box” plot line

just finished and I’m really disappointed that I disliked it so much
I’m almost wondering if I’m just too old to care for these simplistic story lines
I think the major problem is that there’s a lot of focus on side characters that really do very little, so the episodes feel very filler. I don’t really care about Max’s love life, or Abby or any of the other friends - yet at one point or another the story focuses a bit too much on them. This is the stuff that could be shown without it being such a major focus

The Abby eating disorder thing feels a bit random. It was heavily suggested in season 1, ditched for half of season 2, and then suddenly came back into being suggested but not really elaborated on. I assume they’re saving it for third season?

Marcus is just boring. Literally has no personality once you get past that totally mysterious guy next door stage. Paul also could have used a bit more fleshing out as a character, though I got the impression that he has the potential to turn very controlling. The whole Joe thing is… eh. The audience should have already realised that Georgia remembered him and at no point did I think that he was still questioning that part, yet it’s meant to be a bit of a big scene when he finally confronts her

I’ve seen some people really dislike the whole Georgia killing Tom story line and I think it was partly stupid and a bit of a cop out for the writers, but I also think it shows improvement - she killed so her friend could resume her life. Goes into the general progress she makes at the end of the season too

I don’t think season 3 is going to be any good judging by this season and the way the story is going. Either we get Georgia going through trial and prison, or we pick up after she has been released because nothing is found. The PI has nothing on her, she’s more or less told Paul everything and I can’t see the writers picking up the story there as Georgia’s main drama is her protecting her kids and herself. I think they’ll probably pick up at a trial, have Simone defend her and we get to see Ginny and Austin deal with the fall out - giving even more room to explore the minor characters and their pointless stories

I agree - the Max storyline took up way too much time and added nothing. The break up was so dragged out, and I was so bored by her and Silver.

I agree - this could have been dealt with in a much better way. The scene of her taping her legs was such a poignant moment but then it was just sort of...left?! Like it wasn't until really the next season that it was mentioned again when we saw her making herself vomit.

Paul was neither likeable nor unlikable - there wasn't a whole lot to him really.
I agree - I think there was the possibility of him becoming controlling, especially when you see the pressure and expectations his parents put on him.

I’m on season 3 episode 3,
god that max girl is an annoying tit. And I’m really really over seeing teenagers having sex or pleasuring each other.
I’m too old for this tit 😂 give me a cup of tea and more murder and keep your hand jobs kids you’re turning me off my rich tea.
So late to the party on this but this comment made me howl! They’re 15/16?? I don’t need 15 minutes of dry jumping to elevator music! I’m way too old to be watching that! And the thought of who else might be watching it gave me the skeevies 😖
I have 2 episodes left of season 2 so avoiding spoilers. I do like it but also so much of it annoys me. Would probably watch another season but it’s no great future classic.
Massively crushing on Joe and just read that Padma is his real life sister (guessing you all already know that). Anyway I thought it was cute 🥰

Think we all agree it had such promise but really dropped the ball on season 2, far too many half arsed teenage “tick the box” dramas that were just as painful (and boring) to watch as the dry humping was 😐 no depth to any of the characters involved, i found i really didn’t care who killed who and I was genuinely confused how many were dead at one point 😐 i will watch season 3 but is there even going to be a season 3 I wonder

The amount netflix drag things out *cough* riverdale *cough* I have no doubt this is one we’re stuck with for the long haul, season 2 was so bad compared to season 1 so unless they really change things up it’s only going to get worse!

god I gave up on riverdull exactly like the writers gave up on riverdull.
That show was a mess. I don’t hate myself enough for that tit 😂

Think I'm in the minority here, but I've just finished season 2 an I loved it just as much as the 1st! Can't wait for season 3. Also another unpopular opinion but I love Max. I get why people find her annoying, an she's self centered, but on the whole I think she's fab. Finally, hunter gives me the ick. The tap dancing 🤮

I am fully with you on this opinion 😂
I love Max 😂

Glad it's not just me 🤣 she's so dramatic but in a funny way. Definitely one of my fave characters.

Did not love s.2 but will still watch s.3 I wonder how long they'll drag it out before Georgia and Joe get together as that's all I'm bothered about

They're doing a season 4 too so it will probably be dragged out even more. I don't mind Paul, but I can't see them staying together. I hope Joe gets his chance, would be cute considering how long he's been into her.
