Oh god am I glad there’s a thread for this shower of tit! I can’t believe how cheap and tacky it looks. Bad lighting, wobbly sets, poor camera work. I’ve seen Youtube channels broadcasting from people’s bedrooms with better production values.

Michelle "dewbs" Dewberry is looking like an extra from Dynasty or Falcon Crest in that outfit. 😁
Have only caught small bits of GB News today as I was working, quite like the formats & ideas of reporting local stories from around the UK, if they can sort out the technical issues though.
Also reckon there will be some changes with presenters, especially the lady who was on mid morning with Colin Brazier, absolutely dreadful she was.

Does anyone remembers the sketch in the Victoria Wood show of Acorn Antiques with the wobbly sets? I'm half expecting Mrs Overall to appear in the background asking if any of the presenters want a cup of tea!

I would imagine Morgan wants to see the lie of the land before doing anything with this lot. It all sounds makeshift. I have yet to tune in, too hot for depressing news. Apart from the technical issues and bad set design, what is the content like?
Just from the small bits I've seen, quite a lot of reporters around the UK with local interest stories, lockdown, masks, Boris & they are definitely wanting viewer emails & tweets with opinions etc.
Dan Wootton was shouting a lot last night too.

24 hour verdict - I'd say that there is potential but a lot of teething problems to work out. I didn't necessarily disagree with the things Wootton was saying but he might need to be careful with Ofcom, don't want him or any presenter to ruin it for themselves this early on.

I do like the more discussion style approach, some like autocue read news but it bores me. And the use of correspondents around the country is a great idea.

I switched on for a few mins in the morning when the presenters were going very daily mail-esque on refugees. They interviewed a guy from amnesty who basically dispelled everything they had just said so no doubt next time they do that topic they'll make sure to book nigel farage instead.

Switched on again during the day and they had someone from Take a Break on to talk about the effect of the pandemic on families and wondered why they couldn't get someone else on since Take a Break is mostly known for ridiculous articles like 'my bra is possessed by the soul of my dead best friend.'

The lighting and background is awful - the men blend in with their suits and it's not great for the black or dark-haired presenters either. The picture is fuzzy, sometimes the sound was out of sync, or it was echoing. The production was something I might have accepted for a YT news show back in 2008.

It's a bit like watching this but 2021. 😂

I can't take Andrew Neil seriously with the way he's slouched over desk, it hurts my back.

Dan W I assume is just doing the same as he did on talk radio, so they know what they signed up for.

I tuned in for a few mins but couldn't take it. DW just keeps whining on and on about 'freedom day' being cancelled. I know it's tit, it sucks, it's rubbish, no one is happy, but Boris didn't quarantine flights from India quick enough so that's the place that we're in.

It's like a little boy who sees how another kid has chocolate and is going on and on about how he doesn't have chocolate and wants it but hasn't worked out that either the other kid has chocolate because they did their chores and homework and this is the reward, or that the kid has chocolate because their parent doesn't look after their health.

So yes, areas of America are restriction or mask free - either because cases are low or because the local government doesn't care about masses of people dying.

^ but that is the point of somewhere like GB news, not like sky or BBC news it's not wanting to please everyone and for it to be skewed. Like lbc or talk radio people will dip out of shows where they don't like the presenter. Andrew Neil did call out Dan W on something he misrepresented re vaccines and effectiveness.

People are saying dan W might be taken off air, but if he was able to do this for a long time on talk radio I can't see him getting into trouble over his dodgy talk on GB news.

None of the groups of presenters seem to go together that well. They need a Ken Livingstone and David mellor combo.

I have now found out exactly what the term ''dumpster fire'' means 😅

The picture is grainy, constant sound issues and an awful breakfast bar the presenters are stuck behind for 3 hours straight on a morning.
