Strictly are after Andrew Neil for their show……I hope it is a firm no.
Andrew Neil can barely sit at a desk and look comfortable!

He was on with uncle nige today who said goodbye and commented something like Andrew will soon be back on top form which Andrew didn't take too kindly to 😆. Something like "what do you mean, I've always been on top form"

Their viewing figures are appalling by all accounts. Must admit I watched a couple of times but ultimately switched off and haven't bothered since. Then again I do this with most so called news programmes.

Guto Harri appeared to be on with Mercy in place of Colin Brazier, am I right in thinking that Colin is in for Andrew?

Hopefully we can get an extra show or two from Neil Oliver in Andrew's absence.

I haven't watched since the first week. I was up for being wrong, but the uninformed railing on covid, the daily mail type treatment on refugee stories, and just the low quality of a lot of the presenters and the journalists meant there was not incitement to watch. I think Andrew Neil seems to be the only person of caliber on the programme. I have some sympathy with Andrew Doyle's view point but his lines in a clip I watched didn't fly as being humerous because his facial expression is so very angry. I think he needs to stick to writing comedy and not present it himself.

Ultimately GBNews made a mistake assuming the only audience for an anti-woke channel were UKIPers, but that means they've narrowed the group willing to watch it.

Neil has gout.

I fell for this!

The usual suspects on another forum were peddling the falsehood BS that Andrew Neil was quitting GB News, and making it out to be a bigger story than it has turned out to be.

Don't they ever tire of peddling their BS against GB News?

The thread on that forum is quite sad - they clearly despise GB News yet seem to constantly watch it live and give negative commentary all day. They need to get a life.

I agree.

The GB News, LBC and Jeremy Vine threads are just full of copy and paste comments by the same group of people.

I can't understand why people would regularly want to watch something, if it isn't to their tastes.

Alistair Stewart was on the other day in place of Brazier. Is Alistair actually part of the station lineup, or just a one off stand in? If the latter, they need to get him on board more regularly. I think GB News needs a few more big names.

Some of the presenters are still a bit like a rabbit in headlights in front of the camera. I like Mercy Muroki, however I feel she is another that stumbles a bit.

Well they've finally fixed the | on the ticker that wasn't spaced equally 😆

The ratings are low but don't they tend to be for news channels? Sky's never made a profit from news I believe. I wonder how it's performing compared to expectations.

Glad they ditched that crappy desk, but the video background set they replaced it with looks like a conspiracy theory YouTuber

It is a shame they can't get Mike Graham on for a few hours a week. He would be a great addition.
They must have tried to poach lots of lbc or talk radio people. Someone like nick Ferrari would have been a real coup, but I Don't think anyone doing well would take the gamble just yet.

Ferrari, JHB and Piers probably all top of their list to poach if it becomes a success. All are fairly well known, fit the format and all have some TV experience (alongside Ferrari & JHB doing radio for years).

Not sure that tons of the others on LBC would have been on their radar though.

An idea I have is to poach Eamonn & Ruth and let them do a mid-morning show to rival TM since we’ve established that it isn’t purely a news channel. And it would be a good middle finger to ITV.

The problem with GB news is it's Britain orientated, right? Does it focus on international stories too, and not just USA news? Sky News, Channel 4 News and BBC all have more focus on their international news too, especially BBC and Channel 4.

An Al Jazeera type news channel, which was more Britain orientated would be far more ideal. Dedicate a show to international news, maybe news from across the commonwealth/former commonwealth countries as an e.g.

Who is the other presenter on Talkradio who usually joins Mike in the 'down the pub' editions of his show? Is it Kevin O'Sullivan? He is quite good as well.

Why does Kevin O'Sullivan always come across as miserable though? Haha. I've only recently started watching him. I knew about him a few years back when he was a TV reviewer, and he always seemed a bit of a misery. Is that what he's always like?

Sounds a great idea.

Why Ruth and Eamonn want to continue working on This Morning after the way they have been treated is beyond me. Both should have walked away, rather than be relegated to holiday covers.

They may be seeing out their ITV contract (not sure how long it would be). Unless they get a regular gig on TM again, I can see them leaving eventually.

Are they? There’s a big difference between a 30 minutes news show and a 24 hour news channel, which is what I’ve seen it compared to. Comparing it to it’s nearest equivalent (IMO) Sky News channel, it’s slightly ahead in viewing figures from what I read a few days ago.
