Game of Thrones (no unaired spoilers)

I was hoping for this but the earlier leaks mentioned Rhaegal’s death, Missandei’s capture, etc, for last week’s episode which all happened. I’m so gutted.

I am really disappointed. Like others have echoed, they spent two years and a huge budget per episode. This wasn’t a rushed season. There was no excuse for it to end like this. I’m going into this Sunday with zero expectations and being extremely pissed off.

Also, how they treat women in this show. Wtf. The whole Sansa saying she was a stronger person for surviving rape. That was in extreme poor taste. Yes, she’s a survivor but crediting all of her growth to her being violently raped... Literally no words and just disgusting.

Keep on digging that ditch, D&D. This show having one female director during its entire run and a handful of female writers is really telling and indicative of how the rest of the episodes pan out. Oh and don’t get me started on their horrible representation of POC in this series. I hate being this upset but I can’t believe they wasted two years to come to this conclusion and thought it would be well received.

Considering how many 'leaks' there are now out there, it's pretty obvious that some of them are red herrings.

I kinda want to ask if the two spoiler I heard have conflicting information, but dare not incase it does ruin it and happy that they maybe false. I'm an idiot but getting excited for e5 even though drogon is the only one I'm that invested in now 🐉

That's what it feels like, I've waited 8 years and the final battle is hours away now! I'm tempted to get an early night

Avoiding end game spoilers so might as well give up social media 😅

Even chrome is recommending articles on my phone that seem like spoilers 😣

Well it looks like the final episode is going to be a total 💩fest. Everyone lower your expectations next week. If you thought this episode was bad, we are in for a ride next week. (n)

I was hoping those leaks weren't true. I'm just disappointed how quickly this season went from good to wow-this-is-flaming-hot-garbage. I'm sorry but Rhaegal dies in 3 seconds and Drogon somehow misses ALL those arrows and manages to burn down the entire city in matter of minutes. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around why Rhaegal even needed to die in the first place. I guess one less dragon to CGI into the episode? Also, the whole Dany going mad is such a lame explanation for everything that will go down in the final episode. It's such a cop-out and I hate that D&D consistently keep on ruining all these female characters. I guess Dany freeing all those slaves and wanting to be a benevolent ruler went all out the window. Any character development in the past seasons just disappeared. Previous seasons what? Who cares, if D&D deem it to be so. 🤦‍♀️

The Jaime/Brienne storyline was completely pointless and they didn't need to do that arc if Jaime was going to go back to Cersei and then eventually dies with her. They did Brienne so dirty. Oh and Cersei just walks around the Hound to get away? I'm sorry but I just laughed at how comical that entire situation was-- although Qyburn's death was extremely satisfying.

None of this made any sense and I don't get why D&D thought this was a satisfying way to end the series. I'm extremely pissed off. The only redeeming thing about this episode was that the score was beautiful (as usual) and great cinematography but it is all wasted on such poor story-telling.

I don't know. Let me preface this by saying I've been extremely critical of this series and hated the previous few episodes.

But I didn't hate this one. I think the mad queen thing was foreshadowed enough especially since Dani arrived in westeros and people didn't immediately love her as.she had always thought. Adding to that the Jon thing and all the allies she lost I think it's believable she made that d decision to rule by fear because she's scared the people will never love her.

Cersei never cared if people loved her. But she was ultimately human too and that's what Jaime going back for her was for - to show why he still lived her. Lena Headeys mask slowly crumbling to total fear was very well played as was her reaction to seeing Jaime. Ultimately the whole point of his arc was to humanize her not redeem him by killing her. We already knew he was.good. it was unpredictable but not in a stupid way in my opinion - tho I agree the brienne bits were awful. That should have remained an unconsumated thing between them.

Also there's some kind of Greek tragedy element - sorry for pretensious comment- about becoming Dany becoming so like the father she wanted to be so different from. Her swooping in killing cersei and taking the throne would have been so Hollywood. But that seems to be what has upset people (on twitter and such )

I thought this ep was much better. I didn't want Dany to go full mad queen but I guess it makes sense. I love how there was a "wait is it over?" Moment for like 2 seconds followed by an intense look on Jon's face it's like he thought "duck now I HAVE to be king" 😂

I do think arya was a bit pointless in this episode though. I guess it reminded us that she is just a girl/young woman but she didn't even get anywhere near Cersei! And jesus christ how many times did she almost die 🙄

But still this episode was much better than the last 2 and has given me a bit of hope for the finally.

although Qyburn's death was extremely satisfying.
Just came to say exactly that, the only part of that whole episode that was.

So many story arks have ended and just seem pointless.

All those scorpions and she just wiped them out that easily but just a few boats were too much last week. Didn't even see Dany that much. Wouldn't they keep some concealed?

Just makes no sense to end up burning down a city and its innocent inhabitants.

Cersi didn't even have a good death. Haven't read the spoilers but the ending seems obvious now.

Just hope there's some night king / walkers / bran story to come 😣

Haven't watched it yet but after accidentally seeing spoilers already this morning when I've managed to avoid them I think I'll be disappointed!

Seems like some of the storylines that have been built up over the years have been completely disregarded and they've just gone 'yeah, let's just wrap it up do this and this and then we can go home'. They haven't taken fans into account at all and their attachment to it, and have misinterpreted it. It's GOT, people don't care about the romantic side and the wrapping up relationships like the last episode. They've also put too much emotional importance on characters that people aren't bothered that much about like missandei. I wasn't gripped as she's an unimportant character.

With arya, she always had her list and always wanted to kill cersei, some fans would have loved to have seen her do it. Or even Sansa. Arya can be whoever she likes and they've wasted it!

It's just really disappointing. They had 2 years to make it amazing!

After killing the NK it would've pissed off far more people if Arya did cersei too. Of course you could argue she shouldn't have finished him off but that's another issue.

I think her role in the episode was to properly witness the horror of war. Being an assassin is one thing and taking down people one at a time but she witnessed the ugly slaughter of innocents and you can tell she she was shaken up by it. Yeah bit convenient the hound only changed her mind when they got there but. His main argument was cersei was gonna die anyway which he only knew once. they arrived so I guess it's passable. Plus allow a little artistic licence there.

I agree. Although I have a feeling she may be instrumental in the next episode. This is my personal opinion and not a spoiler but I think she may use a ‘face’ to kill Dany.

She must be, they've turned her into the main character as the cost of just about everyone else's story.

Most things in the show now just make you question what the point of them was, not in a deep philosophical way just in a cheated viewer way.

Dany might as well of just destroyed the red keep in 10 mins before flying to North of the wall and actually had the bran night king story amount to something.

Absolutely! There’s going to be so many unanswered questions at the end of this. And I think a rewatch is going to pointless, because I’ll just see a load of things in previous series that never go anywhere (IYSWIM).

And yes to all this. What was the point of Brienne and Jaime getting it on if he was going to leave her for Cersei in the next episode? There’s no emotional impact, it just makes him look like a dick. It would’ve been better if Brienne’s love had gone unrequited.

I actually quite enjoyed this episode, the score was stunning, I love the switching between Arya and the hound. I loved how Arya looks so much like Jon from the back - I agree with the horrors of war through her eyes thing...I found some of those scenes quite similar to Katniss scenes in hunger games.
I saw something this morning about this having all been foretold. Something about not being queen of the ashes in an old episode?
Not a clue how next week will end but it's not going to be satisfying is it? If I was mad Dany I'd be flying north on Drogon to burn Sansa!

I think it's from when Dany had visions in that creepy warlock temple in like s2

One of them.she is in the throne room of he red keep partly destroyed and seemingly covered in snow. But now it seems that it was ash.

Ultimately a show like this is never gonna tie up all loose ends in a lame.twenty years on Harry potter way ( and I love hp)
I just hope it is satisfying or at least thought provoking Ala the sopranos
