I think the white mum thing is a play on the joke going around about how british (typically) white mothers will make a ‘picky tea’ with salad and bread and bits as soon as the sun comes out. But in classic Gobby style she phrased it awkwardly and if you’re not in on the joke it looks strange.White mum?????

Is it a 'white mum' thing? I thought it was more so a British thing to do, I'm a grazer so 'picky teas' work for me, but last time I checked I'm definitely not a white mum
I suspect she's trying to say "look! I'm woke" by throwing the nods to white culture in there but failing because, as you say, its definitely more a British thing and it's far from woke to classify British culture as white.

Also it's not really a white or British thing to do. Tapas? Meze? Post Christmas party food? Just feeling like assorted foods?
