It said his behaviour and the parties he threw were abhorrent and that they wouldn’t want their daughters anywhere near him or that environment. It also supported the prosecution in the fact these victims definitely thought and felt that they were being raped (and therefore are suffering the ramifications of such) BUT they couldnt conclusively rule that M*ndy knew he was having sex with them without consent.
Therefore in the parameters of the law, because the prosecution couldn’t prove concrete intention of rape, they cannot find him guilty of rape.
This is the fundamental problem with the prosecution of Sexual assault cases- you have to prove intent to harm, even if harm is caused, if total intent isn’t clear then no punishment can be brought down. It’s disgusting.
And the headline culture we exist in means 1,000’s of people are reading the headline of not guilty without seeing the nuance, and blaming the women for being terrible. Which couldn’t be further from the truth of the actual judgement 😔

Where is that from? Jurys don't explain their verdicts and there's no "judgement", only a guilty or not guilty verdict.

Also that's not true about intention - there only needs to be intention behind the act (i.e. penetration is intentional) for rape, not intention behind the meaning of the act.

Colour me confused...

Sorry I spoke knee-jerkily, I’d just come off twitter… It was actually HIS defence lawyer who stated that his actions and behaviours were immoral, and not in keeping with societal standards.
His defence was essentially he’s a terrible person who does terrible things,(which probably tells you- he’s really not someone who anyone should be jumping today support) but rape isn’t one of them. A classic be ‘honest’ about less bad things, so you seem truthful in denying larger bad thing.
The judge did make a point of advising the jury to not allow personal perception of his character and actions to cloud the important thing, whether they they could say without doubt that he had raped the victims.
This is the big problem with sexual assault cases, to find someone guilty, a jury has to feel that there is no doubt a crime has happened, and when it’s a case of he said she said, there will always be doubt.

Sorry just to add, saw you’re edit about intent. He never denied sex took place, therefore it’s whether consent is gained. He said it was, they said it wasn’t, and it’s therefore up to the prosecution to prove beyond doubt that he intended to rape them. Which is of course incredibly hard to do.

Personally I am shocked that Rio who cheated on his dying wife, Grealish who has cheated on Sasha more times in the last 2 years than he has scored goals & VVD who cheated on his girlfriend with a pornstar have shown their support! Would never have guessed!

I think so many of them are liking it because when they get caught cheating they use the ‘these females are predators’ line to excuse what they’ve been up to

I sometimes wish I didn't have social media because seeing the above players supporting the above creep makes me sick! He was cleared of rape on the evidence provided but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. The guy is creep scanning night clubs for young impressionable girls who are being chatted up by rich footballers and taken back to their place. I'm not surprised at some of the names supporting him, Grealish who was named in the trial cheating on his doormat gf with one of the girls, Walker (the whole world knows what he gets up to and he was also named in the trial as being part of the group at the club), Rio (cheats on his dying wife with bimbo he's now married to), Lingard, Pogba etc, all clearly hold respecting women at the top of their list of morals. Pogba and Lingard are the biggest morons going in football (spend more time pissing about dancing than on the pitch but for some reason think they're messi🙄). I know that's kind of off topic but I can't stand them.

Also the fans, not all but quite a lot supporting him and the other abusive twit at utd. The comments on the latest post from utd congratulating Garnacho is sickening. Makes me want pull my eye balls out.
