quick reminder for everyone not to speculate about the current situation with player who shall not be named. after the arrest criminal proceedings began so just be careful with what is said/posted/shared on here because it could mean any potential trial is delayed or even stopped because a fair trial isn’t possible. and we don’t want to get in the way of justice being dealt.

Don’t mean to change the subject at all but what does everyone think of dele Alli’s move to Everton. I wonder will it restart his career or not cause realistically he still is only young but this is his last chance to prove he’s good enough to play for England or at the top level

I think it might benefit him. Maybe at Spurs things had gone a bit stale and he needs a fresh start!

The double standards just rear their ugly head. If a female football player was convicted of DV, or sexual assault, their career would be over. They would be vilified. They’d struggle to get any employment anywhere.

Men are basically just applauded for what they do, regardless of what they do. Teflon. I’m bored of it.
And the fact female footballers get scrutinised and criticised all the time by men who are sitting at home with nothing better to do. Like who’s making the money and a better player than you’ll ever be and who’s sitting at home moaning about successful women.

I am gutted the way it ended for Dele with us but he literally lost all the fire & effort he once had. Watching him when he played in recent years has been painful. Maybe a change of city and clubs could do him the world of good, I really hope it works out for him.

I think he got too caught up in the lifestyle, fame and money at a very young age like a lot of them do, but hope he does well tbh and turns his career back around.

I think it’ll work out well, in the way Lingard did well at West Ham. We will see!

I'm really sad to see him go, but I really hope the move gives him some of his old spark back. I was a huge Dele fan and never fully lost the faith that he'd return to form one day. If he returns to form while at Everton I'll still be really happy for him (but not as happy as if it had happened with us obviously 😂)

I totally agree with you and think it’s such a shame. He lost all desire and spark, especially after Poch left and I think his insta post alludes to that and Poch being the only coach who really knew what to do with him. I really don’t think he wanted the move to Everton as he got too comfortable at Spurs, but I hope it reignites something in him! He has too much talent to waste it. I found it a bit weird he hasn’t acknowledged Everton yet?

He was my absolute favourite spurs player. Him and Sonny. I'm gutted and I dint even support spurs my husband and sons do (I'm west ham) Mr and my son firmly belive its down to Jose and Ali just lost his Mojo. Watching the video he put on insta reminded me of some absolute crackers he scored.

It's a great deal and superb signing for Everton and he'll be happy there I'm sure. He's only 25 and this might reignite his talent. Spurs was totally the wrong club for him, gave him too much free rein outside of the club when they should have coached him to be laser focused on his game.

I just think no manager has known how to get the most out of him since Poch. I think probably a lot of Spurs players feel that way - a podcast with Dier recently said about how there was players who spent 5 hours at his house when sacked.

I’m an Everton fan as most of you will know, I’ve never particularly been a fan of Dele but there is definitely some potential there and I really hope he smashes it at us. The fresh start and the fact it really is now or never for him to kickstart his career and prove himself should hopefully help him. I think him and Lampard and with the players we’ve got, it can be a good place for him - plus our fans won’t take no shit. I think we’re a good fit for him.

He signed in London and can’t play on Saturday so I don’t think he’s linked up with the squad yet. I’m waiting for some sort of acknowledgment of it and a proper interview with the club. Maybe he’s waiting till he’s had proper media duties with the club. He’s not had that yet

I listened to that podcast episode too and you could tell how highly some of the team at the time thought of Poch that they spent so long with him. Levy’s biggest mistake, although many to choose from, was sacking him.

Makes sense, I didn’t realise! He’s got the potential to be great signing and I hope you get the best out of him 👍🏻

Yep, I think they sacked him far too quickly. It was a good podcast, they were incredibly fond of Poch. They’ve never been the same since for me.

Agree. It was disaster after disaster, quite frankly. Levy thought appointing special ones would be enough but you can’t polish a turd sadly.

In my opinion, I think Conte has great potential if he is a patient man as we won’t be anywhere near our best for many years once we’ve had a chance to completely rebuild our team, if Levy loosens the purse strings of course!

Just curious where’s his posing with the shirt pic etc? I find it strange he couldn’t travel to Liverpool and every other player that signed yesterday has already been ‘announced’ or showboated. But hopefully he sees it as a new chance.

He’s not eligible to play at the weekend so probably hasn’t come up yet. Kenwright and Levy discussed it all yesterday afternoon and he didn’t start his medical till about 5/6pm. It’s quite common with us for us to do medicals in London on deadline day, we have a few times in the past as Kenwrights’ office is there. I’m sure we’ll get some content soon
