I have an elderly relative who has really bad health. Can't go out etc. I have 2 small children, no other family to help out. But the family member will ring at 7 o clock in the morning asking if I can pop over to do something, rings constantly throughout the day also rings at 11 o clock at night. I can't be expected to drop everything to help out . Am I being unreasonable for getting annoyed or am I being reasonable because my children need me and I can't just drop things to help my relative out. I've been over at least 3 times in the last week I live like 20 minutes away. Any advice is helpful

It sounds like your relative is lonely more than anything else. Do they have home care? Maybe have an agreed day and time, once or twice a week for you to go over. Contact Age UK as they have people who volunteer as befrienders etc that can also help out.
With the telephone call ask them to phone once a day
