Can you recommend some reading on this or explain the significance? I’ve googled ‘Italian promise ring tradition’ and nothing is coming up other than actual proposal customs? Surely an engagement ring is a promise ring anyway, so I don’t really understand the need for one. Seems like an empty gesture unless you were a teenager.

One think I have noticed that like for ex on Ekin Gracie post, not a single islander has commented on her expect for Davide. The edited show should how friendly these girls were but it's not true. Also I believe this season unlike previous, we haven't seen major girls friendship. Even when girls were bullied like tasha or disrespected like ekin, no girls fought with their partners. It's more two faced, like consoling them in private but too afraid to speak in public. Hence I think in year time, nobody will even remain friends

I think the promise ring is sad and pathetic they are not children. Just wait until you want to get engaged, I agree with other posters they always do a gesture after a bit of bad press. They know exactly what they are doing.

Because there is nothing one of my closest friends is Italian, from a very traditional family and married an Italian man who I believe is from a wealthy background - they dated for a few years, got engaged and got married just like the majority of the continent do any other Italians I know seem to have followed the same pattern too.
