I’m not entirely sure if the time zone is correct but you can work it out based on this

There’s rumours of a surprise performance but it wasn’t indicated yesterday at all (with a stand in) during the jury final so I’m not sure where they plan to fit it in

It was different then though, it was largely Western countries participating so Musical tastes aligned a bit more. So you still had the novelty acts bit a decent ballad was guaranteed to do well. Now it's much larger, musical tastes are more diverse from one corner of Europe to another and to lazy old me at least it requires a huge effort to find 'that' song. It's why Ireland/UK success (between them they were pretty dominant) dwindled so much in the past 20 years.

Yes and let’s be honest, the eastern block all vote for each other. Whether that’s because of musical preferences or political alliance idk. Hence why UK, Germany, Spain and France usually get very few points unless they send an exceptionally good act (a la UK last year) and come near the top of the score board.

Hi guys only just discovered this thread! We’re massive Eurovision fans in our house. My favs are Moldova, France, Finland and Austria. I did have Lorene as a dead cert win but having seen the live performances I reckon Israel have a good shot, assuming they don’t lose out on political voting.

I’ve heard rumours that mae is ‘saving her voice’ in rehearsals and that she’s got a cold. This is either f1 style sandbagging or damage limitation and putting out reasons for why we end up with nil points.

Hi guys only just discovered this thread! We’re massive Eurovision fans in our house. My favs are Moldova, France, Finland and Austria. I did have Lorene as a dead cert win but having seen the live performances I reckon Israel have a good shot, assuming they don’t lose out on political voting.

I’ve heard rumours that mae is ‘saving her voice’ in rehearsals and that she’s got a cold. This is either f1 style sandbagging or damage limitation and putting out reasons for why we end up with nil points.

I think Mae just isn't a good live singer and the cold is an excuse.

She sounds fine on the recording and the song is OK but her voice just isn't strong enough to compete among so many other superior singers.

@Scotch Mist I completely agree. I knew when they put the song out originally with all the voice edits there’s be an issue with her singing live. Why can’t we find good singer to perform?

We suffer with not doing the semis I think. We don’t put the same effort into the final performance as the other countries do, and it shows.

We had a great singer last year in Sam but he's the only decent artist we've entered this century.

I like Moldova every single year, it must be my taste in music!

I hope we get some decent points, it'd be a shame to go from near the top to back at the bottom in one year. I like her song I think it's catchy but I'd like either Finland or Australia to win.
