I don't like our song, but it's a proper earworm for me. I don't think it's going to win
Don't think that was the bbc's aim tbf it was gonna be a tough one to follow sam I have seen her live and she's a lot better than these pre parties she's been doing and apart from the pre parties I don't feel there's been enough promo so I don't think it's even gonna be top 5/top 10 which is what their aim is I think shame really

Possibly but then again there's a lot of people that couldn't give a tit about it they just see a extra bank holiday 😂 but bbc have a very busy month so in that sense yes it well could be
Media as well. I lived in London for years and none of my British friends were royalists but it's still an historic occasion that will attract coverage. It's like they're trying to squeeze Eurovision in.

I think it’s hard to get excited when you have a mediocre contestant representing the country tbh. Though it is weird that there has been so little from the BBC about hosting it too, and I’ve not heard much about the coronation either

A lot of the fandom are praising the BBC for putting on so many televised Eurovision themed programmes before the contest though, but then there are the very people who seem to follow Eurovision throughout the year so it’s not like they notice a change in hype levels that much

Yeah not a good year for us to be hosting really. I also think that hosting on behalf of someone else makes it a bit awkward- neither one thing nor the other which makes it hard to get as excited
It's been over 40 years since someone's stepped in to host for another country and it did happen in the earlier contests for one reason or another but its not really a thing now really its not the best year at all but think the excitement isnt there as much few countries arent in it hopefully at beginning of May it'll ramp up a bit some lovely Ukrainian Ladies live in my area and stop to have a chat every now and again and I asked about if they follow eurovision and they said they started excited but they don't feel the Ukrainian culture is gonna be there and it feels British

King Charles and Queen Camilla were in Liverpool today for the unveiling of the Eurovision stage. They also met with Rylan, Scott Mills, Hannah Waddingham and Mae.

I found the Tattle Eurovision thread too late last year to get in on it, so here I am nice and early(ish) this year.
I agree that we’re ‘Lovely Horsing’ it with Meh Muller, we obviously don’t want to risk winning and having to host a second year in a row.

Out of the entries I’ve heard so far, I really like Malta (banging sax riff), Austria (quirky and catchy), and Serbia (a bit different).

What I think will do well: Germany, almost certainly top 5. Ukraine guaranteed left side of the board due to sympathy votes, and Loreen to place top 10 for nostalgia points.

So in exactly 2 weeks it will be the Final, yet I still don't feel hyped up for it like I usually am and it feels like many things seem to be missing from this years contest compared to previous years. Also like the previous years me and my mum always listen to the official roundup of all the songs to see what songs we could potentially like and this year none of the songs stood out for us and we have said that if we don't like many songs from the Semi Finals then we are not going to watch the Final.

I've been deliberately avoiding most of the songs to try and give me more of a fresh feeling for the semis. I'm actually really excited now, already planning snacks and drinks.

Gin is my go-to for Eurovision night. Not sure why.

I think I’m sort of disappointed by the interval acts the most tbh. Ukraine feels very under-represented in them and if the past contestants are just doing another switch song situation then it’s very boring. Generally, I’m not sure why we’ve invited some of the past contestants at all tbh (and I say that as someone who’s excited to see them)

I think the hype will build up as it normally does. I think the excitement last year was because we finally had a shot at winning or doing well so it was promoted a lot more

I don’t normally listen to the songs before the contest but having heard some of the snippets for the favourites to win I’m very confused
