Exactly. It's alright.

Frankenstein is a tuuuune. The staging for that could have been great. 'I wrote a song' isn't terrible and it's catchy in a repetitive sort of way. Not a winner though.

It's good that the UK are finally sending modern songs to compete. I think Sam finally got us out of the way of thinking that proved it wasn't that everyone hated the UK, they just hated our songs!
Aye definitely sam would always be difficult act to follow it isn't a winner but if it comes top 5 or top 10 then we've done well

i think with good staging it might make top 10 or 15, and much prefer it after watching the music video too. if you ignore 2022 then it's miles better than anything else we've sent recently. i think it will be respected but not win which is the bbc's goal. i am however obsessed w austria

I saw her at a festival last year and despite not knowing any of her stuff I thought she was really good. She held the audience well and her voice is good live. I agree about this song though - not as instant as Sam's and quite middle of the road for Eurovision.

I'm not her by the way (though I did manage to get a semi final ticket via my mother in law!)

Have my group are planning on going by train 😬
surely it’s the type of thing they would have checked before deciding on Liverpool.

Puts me in mind of The Human Centipede XD

I do love a mad entry.

re. trains, i think it's network rail maintenance works along the avanti west coast route on final weekend. maybe getting something up east and over could be a solve? somewhere like leeds or sheffield thats <2 hrs away?

in other news, national lottery free tickets to a big welcome party on 7th may!

Thank you. I will have a good look into it. We are quite spread out, York, Oxfordshire, wales and the midlands and possible Scotland! It’s not something I’d thought about but then I should remember the you can never just assume the trains will be running these days 🙈

pretty sure the newcastle to lime st train runs through york, and newcastle could be easier to get to from scotland. transport for wales run to the wirral from wrexham and to lime st from chester. never been to the midlands or oxfordshire by train though so no idea there!

I like quite a few I like norway,Finland,Serbia, Slovenia,Spain France and Estonia and I've grown to Like our entry and Croatia, Italies and Cyprus's entries Poland would of been my favourite if jann had been selected but no they've sent a song we've heard a million times over

I don't normally listen to any of the songs until the main show, but I was interested to hear our entry this year. It's...OK. Catchy, Eurovisiony, but very mid‐table. Don't like the spoken bridge section. Good luck to Mae though, looking forward as always to the big night.

Also had a listen to my second country, Spain, after Chanel did us proud last year. Interesting to go for a "cante" style of singing. I can see it being popular with the Eastern European nations. Its one of those that either be top 3 or bottom 3. Hard to predict how people will take it as its quite a niche style.

It is very catchy but it will depend heavily on staging. Are we going to get the running slot for the UK soon? I noticed last year Italy were given ninth pretty early on

I wonder if they might go with the idea of miniature houses/sets as seen in the the music video for the staging
